There are obviously some structural adjustments needed with our OL recruiting.
But, all you folks that are blaming Trickett are off base.
We recruit by territory not by position. Many kids like Trickett. His lines with one exception at FSU have been pretty good. He sends people to the NFL. Last year his coaching was magnificient taking little to no experienced OL and turning it into a solid unit.
With Golson this tells us much more about the kid, than Trickett. What does the athlete want? Top notch facilities, trainers, coaches, and a chance at a NC, conference championships, playing in front of 83,000+? Or the smaller version, hope of decent seasons and making maybe 1 conference championship, playing in front of 60,000, being an afterthought, etc. The big version isn't for everyone and there is nothing wrong with not going for it, if that is what he wants. Hopefully, his parents will lay out the lay of the land for him so he can come to a good decision for him.
