Yes, they've talked about it for a long while.. it's the one "controversial" aspect. This could be a good thing, or a real bad thing, yet to be seen.
It's supposed to be a committee represented by one member from basically all the D1 conferences and Notre Dame.

I think 4 is enough. I can't think of a single year I've been alive that I felt the 5th place team was, or could have been, the National Champion.
We're going to bitch about the 5th team, but truth is, if we had 8, we'd bitch about the 9th.
Having 4 teams isn't my concern... the committee that picks those 4 is.

This will definitely come down to the selection of the selection committee. Personally I like the human element instead of a computer that just punches numbers. I wonder if the selection committee was in place last season, would we have seen OK St in the national championship??

This. SEC bias all the way.
Either 8 team playoff or a playoff of conference champions. Settle it on the field.
It's s step in the right direction but still flawed.
