I can't agree with this. This is a kid that FSU was on very early and obviously thought was talented enough to accept a commitment from a year before signing day. Now that he decommits, people are saying we can "do better." This is a loss no matter how you spin it. The question is now: Do we make a move to get him back or move on to other targets?

Yes he was good enough yo have his commitment accepted cause he would have been 1 of 3 RBs... you fail to see that... and yes we move on, just like any other staff would do... are you sure you are not new to this?

  • The kid literally said he committed to us to get other offers. It was obvious he was looking to get that Auburn offer. I think that's why most people here want to move on. I would love to have him in this class, but I'd rather have our staff focus on recruits who want to be here or at least have legit interest.

Even with that said... We have almost a year until signing day. I'm not going to lose any sleep over kids committing/decommitting with this long left in the game. I think we still need to take into account we are still adjusting to a new staff, so lets give it some time. I'm sure we will be fine.

Yeah, I'm sure. I'm not sure what his being 1 of 3 RBs has to do with anything. I don't care if he was 1 of 30 RBs, the staff obviously wanted him. And, yes, I understand that we probably "move on," but we may possibly continue to aggressively recruit him and try to flip him back. I'd obviously hope we'd try to get him back given the investment we had in him. Hopefully, no bridges have been burnt. I'd love to get both Pettway and Yearby back.

1 of 3 at the time when Yearby was committed meant we take him not cause we need him cause we can take him and it doesn't hurt chances for others... what investment, a few months and still 11 months til NSD... things will be ok... have some faith and patience

Starting the year off right with 4 decommitts

All games are important, if you don't think so try losing one and see how people act.-B.Bowden

  • No different than kids having you in their top five without a commitable offer.. It's recruiting, 85 percent if the people who have offers extended to them can be classified as a waste of time..
