  • I find it interesting that there have been all these rumors about Big 12 expansion from "credible" sources like the Baylor writer and gswaim yet the Big12/SEC bowl game was a surprise to everybody.

    Yeah, I noticed that too. Well, just goes to show, not every "pundit" is on the up and up, and no one has the total scoop at this time. Still, it's interesting to watch all this develop and keep score as to who is a liar and who actually has some inside info.

  • Gswaim actually said it was a news conference about a bowl game. He was pretty spot on about that as well. Just didn't know all the details.

    Agreed.

    Check his timeline. He said the day before or yesterday morning that there was a news conference and it had nothing to do with expansion.

  • At this point I think there's enough out there to feel this is definitely going to happen. Just my opinion but I would be absolutely stunned if FSU remains in this conference. There is just no reason to. And the B12/SEC game cements it. We ain't joining the Big 10 or Pac12. So where do we fit? Pretty easy to connect these dots.

  • I am not the typically the "chicken little" type, however, this conference alignment stuff has me freaked out. The next few months could greatly define our future.

    We are in a conference that is mocked in the media and is far behind in terms of $$$. We have an admin that I don't feel 100% comfortable with to make the right decisions. Well, at least they haven't said anything to the public that leads me to believe they will handle this correctly.

    I agree and I just don't see how an offer is declined by FSU to join the Big12.

    We all should be freaked out a little. If we don't go somewhere else we will shrivel and die over a not so long period of time.

    That's what some Cane fans don't get when I say that if FSU and Clemson leave and they stay they will perish as a program. I admit we will too if we stayed. No one will be able to matter in football from the ACC starting about 3 years from now IYAM

    Used to "freak out" a lot in college. Don't partake anymore since I am over 30, married, and father of (2).

    I am officially off the train unless "they" legalize it.....

  • Wouldn't surprise me. Or at least Florida adopting a state law allowing it medicinally. The tax dollars are there for the taking. CO and CA are reaping the benefits.

  • I know "The Dude" on the West Virginia site mentioned the press conference a couple of days ago and said it had to do with the Big 12/SEC.

    Not me. There are a TON of Seminoles in Atlanta. Especially in the suburbs. Sometimes it feels like I am back in Florida. I am almost certain I know the canopy you speak of at Panic shows.

    Now that I am off tour, I make it to the local shows or (2) drive shows. I will buy you a beer and show some ATL hospitality if Panic comes off hiatus and plays in Atlanta again.

    Issues have to be what? Who's going to pay the 20 million? What divisions were going to be in? Who else may be invited? You'd have to wonder if Miami will try to hitch their wagon to FSU to get in and if Louisville will want that as well so they can become member #14.

    Actually, it isn't surprising at all. More people will be in the loop, have access to those that are in the loop, etc regarding teams moving conferences.

    The BOT's. boosters etc would not be in the loop regarding something like a new bowl game. The presidents may not have been in the loop for it. Just the ad(s) and the conference commissioners.

    Additionally, a team like FSU leaving a conference will make most media outlets focus on that story.

    Florida may not survive as a legit state if we don't rush to compete with CO and CA....losing out on these tax dollars puts us at an insurmountible disadvantage..............yikes
