Ok I am putting my self out there..ND to the ACC is just....

  • Anyone who believes that this is happening anytime soon has a fundamental misunderstanding of what independence means to ND. It's their institutional identity.

    I'll also be shocked if the plus one doesn't have a path for independents to get in.

    Of course a 4-team playoff would allow independents a shot. It would pit the top 4 teams against each other. There doesn't need to be any special provision for that and there won't be any need for AQ conferences in that situation, either.

    Notre Dame prefers independence but I highly doubt they'd be willing to let their non-football sports flounder in a mid-major type of conference if that's what it comes down to.
