Here is the question I have about the offensive pass interference penalties called against KB in the endzone.
On the first one, that was not caught, the pass was thrown out of bounds and was catchable by either KB or the defender. How can you throw a flag where the "pass interference" has no bearing on the play. Calls are routinely called off or not enforced when the defender is the culprit of the interference. I just dont understand how that flag was even thrown.
On the second (where KB caught the TD), I can atleast understand why you throw they flag if you legitimately thought there was PI - he caught the TD. But on the first one, there should not have been a 15 yard step off.
The ACC Refs are idiots?
Kelvin called it the Shaq affect. I had previously likened him to Danny Fortson, the bball player from Cincinnati who played in the NBA for a while. Dude got 3 offensive fouls a game because he would just dump truck people with his strength. KB is 6'6 238 and goes against CBs who likely average 5'11 188 if you averaged it all out. So 7 inches and 50 pounds. When he shoves it looks like cheating because the DB gets displaced. Most WRs cant do that. Oh, and the ACC refs suck
3 offensive pi calls have been made this season in the ACC. They were all on us. They were all in one game. Nuff said.
The second would be illegal contact in the nfl. The cb tried to jam him 6-7 yards off the line. This call was the worst because it was 2 fouls (could argue he was trying to hold kb) in one play. Neither on kb. As a wide out youre taught make your guy guess off the line (corner obviously thought it was going to be a slant) then to fight off corners at the point of contact (he did). Ball in air he had beaten the defender legally then the flag came.
I understand we are dealing with incompetency here, however, the first ball was just so clearly uncatchable by either KB or the defensive backs. Therefore, regardless of contact, no flag. Oh well.
