OT - best college towns to drink in?

Tally will always be my first choice for gameday, but let's assume Tally isn't an option. What other college towns are the best for having a good time? What's your top pick on a gameday weekend, and your top pick for a non-gameday weekend.
I was in Austin TX in April and had a really great time. I hear wonderful things about Athens GA and Auburn AL...

Went to a few Auburn games through college to visit friends, and they have a great gameday atmosphere. And if they win, the bars are a lot of fun after. Clemson was fun, but i hate Clemson so it kind of ruined the weekend.

If you've been to Austin, TX, it's 1b right behind Tallahassee.
Athens is ok. UGA fans deter from its luster (I live in GA).
Clemson would be ok.
Auburn...heck no.
GTech would be pretty good (given its downtown ATL).
I would have a list of mostly only SE U.S. schools.

Columbus is definitely a great drinking enviroment on game day. Everyone in Ohio pretty much lives and breathes Buckeye football.

Clemson, Baton Rouge, Morgantown WV, Lubbock TX were pretty fun college towns. But Tally will always be #1 to me. Not really a college town but Seattle is a pretty awesome place and home to UW.

everything is 2nd to madison
I love tally but if you are looking to drink Madison wins hands down
I have also been to almost every town mentioned in this post. Madison beats them all for drinking hands down
Ga tech is not a good place to go drinking. it is in a quesionable area (everything to the south and east of campus) & the lower part of midtown is great for eating establishment but not bars

Disagree.
Anything you can do in Madison, Wisconsin, you can do in Baton Rouge. And you can do it 40 degrees warmer.
Madison is indeed waaaay up there (it's just tooooooo GD cold, man) but Baton Rouge takes the cake. Wake up with a bloody mary, some hot boudin, cold cush cush, and don't stop until you pass out. God help you if it's a night game.
Athens, GA is almost as good. Downtown being right across from campus makes it literally the most perfectly set up college town ever. Tons of bars. And women. And bars. And women.
I lived in Gainesville for 2 years while working @ Shands. I love Tallahassee, but they got us on pregaming.
Auburn and Ole Miss are both fun, but I was with students both times I went, so it was kinda annoying. Instead of tailgating it was "get drunk as fast as possible and walk around harassing people. I'd rather watch football.
Most underrated college town = Iowa City, Iowa. I know I bitched earlier about it being cold, but that place iz kewl as hell.
Alabama sucks.

Are you guys kidding me?
After 2 or 3 drinks (maybe 4 or 5 for the lushes), every town is awesome and all the girls look like Meghan Fox. The food tastes great and the whole evening just becomes a blur.

I was in Tempe for school and worked in a bar, so I can attest for it being a great drinking town, even if my fellow Sun Devils didn't really get behind our teams, unless they were winning.
And even I was wearing an FSU hat most days.

The last time FSU played in LSU it rained so hard that there was no gameday experience, it turned into a battle to stay dry. Im touring LSUs athletic facilities July 12th and will try to post the pictures

Never been to a home game there. Only been to the campus once and i was in 6th or 7th grade. With so many people + Ann Arbor being pretty small I'm sure it's fun.
