  • You guys and I both know what he would accomplish if he went to Bama. The writing is on the wall. And having Saban as your positions coach. And seeing a handful of DB's get drafted from Bama in recent years and this year, to me its a no brainer, BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, if you wanna stay closer to home, we understand!

    UF, FSU are great schools too! They'd be getting a hell of a player!

  • I get the feeling that VH3's recruitment will be crazy. My guess is there's going to be all kinds of twists and turns before all is said and done.

    Mike Harris, Xavier Rhodes, and Greg Reid will be in the NFL from FSU.
    VH may be impressed by both Saban and Stoops and yet prefer to play at USF with his father.
    It is not the "no brainer" you think.

    Yeah ever since we found out he wasn't as enamored with FSU as people lead on, I mentally moved on to other prospects.

    Obviously USF isn't in the same league as Bama, UF, and FSU in recruiting, but they've had a lot of success turning out DBs to the NFL (Jenkins, Henry, Murphy, Allen, Williams, Raymond) in just a few seasons, and Webster will almost certainly be drafted next year. The big thing holding USF back right now for VH3 is they flopped the second half of the season. They need to show VH3 that he'll play for a competitive team. USF has a lot of senior starters and gets another head to head shot at FSU, Miami, and a reorganized Big East minus WVU. Got to make some noise this year to close on a guy like VH3. He'll be on the sideline for every home game. So, they'll have plenty of opportunities to show him USF truly is a team on the rise.

  • Guess this puts other schools at a disadvantage but his father should let him go to the school that the son feels fits him best.

    Helluva player though..and definitely NOT one of the top 3 players in the country.

  • I feel like since it is likely Stoops is gone after this season that his dad will probably keep pointing that out. While I am sure we will get a great replacement to coach our DBs, I think the lack of relationship time with the new coach will cost us our shot with this recruit.

  • Am I the only one that finds it weird that the kids father, who recruits/coaches for USF is accompanying him on these trips. The schools, especially any schools that they play (ie FSU this year), will not be able to show him everything they might show a normal recruit such as: How he would be utilized, including some playbook material. I'm not saying that recruits get a heavy dose of playbook, but you gotta think FSU would be reserved in what they showed VH3 because of VH2.
