Noles close to flipping Bama commit

I think most realistic fans understand that FSU is going to be back on the upswing. All good teams will have up and down years, we have had our share and now we are to where we expect.

There are not many realistic bama fans that come around here often.... I know a lot of Bamers and most I know are realistic....

Well I am a Alabama resident and I consider myself a Bama boy. The state is not as it is made out to be but the arrogant ones really do outshine the humble ones... cause those arrogant ones are the ones who seem to be out in front leading the charge _

Listen, i hear you. My region covers the entire southeast and TX and i hate to bring it to you but EVERY state has those. You just have to overlook some of them, even the ones in FL.

You can't lump all us "Bammers" together. I guess you didnt live in the era when FSU won everything for so long. At that time there were not many realistic FSU fans then either. WInning and losing has a way of changing people.

Sorry to inform you but Jimbo had no say so in a lot of what took place at FSU until he was the actual HC, he has won 19 games with a very young and talented teams.... your recent success has been incredible but you tend to forget the years of well average. So don't assume that it will not or is not being turned around at FSU.....

Jimbo had top 10 offenses in 2009 and 2010. 2009 offense was marred by the worst FSU defense of the Mickey Andrews era. People seem to forget Mickey's role in 2009 was to raise his grandchildren and prevent Bobby from hiring Amato as DC.

Jimbo, Coley, and Dawsey accounted for almost all of the recruiting in 2009. Those 3 landed 16 of the 21 commits in 2009. The defensive staff outside of Odell was a joke, and horrendous at recruiting. Amato was stripped of his recruiting duties. The post-Steele, pre-Stoops era was filled with defensive coaches who hated each other, weren't good at coaching, and weren't great at recruiting. They used rivals ratings to evaluate recruits. FSU was rarely first to offer a kid pre-Jimbo.

We now have excellent evaluation, an elite defense, and had a rough year on offense with injuries. Jimbo has an excellent history of running good offenses. Considering the problems he had on and off the field last year, I think he's shown a heck of a lot of resiliency, and that 2011 was an aberration as far as offense goes.

The "FSU destroys talent" meme only applied in the eras when they destroyed talent with coaches like Jeff Bowden, Sexton, Dexter Carter, Amato, Jody Allen, etc. When we really did have coaches who were bad at coaching.

I'm so tired of hearing that, especially from SEC folks. The Bowden era is over. We are no longer "destroying talent". The 2013 NFL draft will feature plenty of guys in G&G, including likely 3 DE's in one class.

If your championships are enough why even come over here? Just let us Noles toil in a MNC-less reality where we celebrate meaningless recruiting near-victories.

For the inventors of organized football you Bamers, uh sorry, Bammers come off as insecure, whiny little bitches everytime another school presses for one of your recruits. If all you do is win titles, then you should ignore us, right?

So maybe just shut the fuck up and beat it. Go polish your hardware and act like nothing else exists in this world except Bama ball. Your arrogance is boring and predictable. You'd think Bama fans would be less inclined to talk trash to FSU considering what happened the last time the two schools actually met. But that's just me.

Keep it classy guy! Don't need to be so mad, it is a great day. Don't take message boards so seriously.

You are absolutely correct. Fisher needs to pull something big this year. You can pull all of the injury stuff but every program has that. You should now have the talent to backup any injury. If you guys don't do some great things this year then you have bigger problems.

Coerce injuries happen but our oline depth was already behind, one or two injuries forced freshman who were subject to being RS but couldn't cause of lack of depth.... we are at a 2 deep situation on the oline now. That hurt big time last year.

Bama fans like ND fans had this entitlement about than. And no not lumping all Bamers together but you know as well as I know there are those out there now that make your entire fan base look bad.... living in Mobile I have seen it with my own eyes....

  • FSU and Bama will be battling for kids forever. I love it when Jimbo snags a DB. That is Nick's wheelhouse. Kinda like Nick stealing a QB recruit. It's gotta sting. Bama fans were very high on ol Artie. Burns will burn for a while.

Another reminder that Bama has some stiff competition. If they didn't recognize last year they will now.

Glad to see every FSU fan be fine upstanding members of society and not have any that make you wince when they are around you. My point is that EVERY fanbase has those, yes, including yours. Crazy, i know.

  • Looking at our Pro Day lineup this past week was exciting to me. As much as I love those guys that will be the weakest pro day we'll have for the foreseeable future.

Thomas, Jones, Reed, Little, Datko, Zebrie, Bradham, Harris, Parks, Powell.....

    Next year:
Manuel, Rodney Smith, Fahrenkrug, Jenkins, Bjoern, Carradine, Jacobbi, Amp, Everett, Moses, Vince, XR27, Greg Reid, Nick Moody, Hopkins. Maybe Christian Jones and/or Haulstead. Yikes!

Yes I lived in that era, at the age of 34 I have seen the rise and fall of FSU and the fall and rise of Bama.... no need to be defensive. Living in this state I have experience my share of both Auburn and Bama fans..... and yes all fan bases have those fans but Lets not act like at the moment those bad fans out weigh the good ones.

That was my point. When you have been recruiting the way you guys have then there should be no need to have that issue this year. If you do then your Coach's and not getting the best out of the players that they have.

I did, and expectations were through the ceiling. And they still are, 12 years later and counting.

Ummmmm when have I said there isn't any. Don't assume.... you are here on a FSU board defending Bama and how the majority of the fans are and have been acting.... so stop assuming that I don't think or know that FSU has those fans as well. Also go back and look at my post where I state most of my Bama fans don't act like the majority on BOL. That is all I stated.....

Not defensive in the least, just splainin the fact. I am agreeing with what you are saying. The good fans will always outweigh the bad ones, the bad ones just get more press and then all are lumped in as "delusional".

I think that is where most fanbases take exception to the programs that have usually been on top. When you have grown up around a program that has been known to be a winner it ups the anty and your expectations are always going to be higher.

Now who is getting defensive, lol. I know what board i am on. The basic premise that you are not understanding is that i am basically agreeing with what you are saying. Go back and reread what i am saying and i think you will see that. This is not a "my daddy will beat up your daddy" issue with me. I am with you.thumbsup

  • I love how the dirtiest program the NCAA has ever seen is suddenly very high an mighty. Great, you've won some championships recently and your coach is good. You still live in a pathetic state filled with toothless heathens and your life is meaningless without another Bammer national title and Paw Finebawm. Other than screwing your sisters and referencing "stompin' mudholes an' walkin em drah," there appears to be very little to be excited about for Alabamians.

We will likely win this recruiting battle, like we have the last several other than that one big fat lineman. You guys keep doing you and don't worry about us, k?
