Some of you have missed the big picture of what he has done for FSU. Practice facility, modern S&C, player dorms, been a huge proponent of getting us out of this abortion of a conference. When we start pulling 30 mil per year, you will get it.
Bottom line, you need to pay like a top job to remain a top job.
I have family that are Hawkeye fans. Iowa pays Kirk 3.8 per year, to lose to CMU. Yet, they get it. Win or lose, it solidifies Iowa as a top job when they need to hire someone new. There is no guess work. Candidates know what they can receive with success.
Our fans unfortunately still think like a small market team. I for one, am thankful that Fisher is elevating our expectations. When Baylor and TCU are paying more than FSU, it's time to remind people what FSU is.
One poster put it best on another site. FSU staying in the ACC was dangerously close to having the relevance of Ole Miss, known as a cheap program in a cheap conference. IE - a stepping stone.
We need to get that salary up over 3 mil. It says FSU is committed to excellence. If he fails, he'll be fired, but there will be no doubt that this is a big time job.
We need more forward thinkers in our fanbase, and less nickel and dimers that think the year is 1995 and you come to FSU because you just should.

Preach it Bowden.....agree 100%. Give him a one year extension and $3MM/year package. Fisher is 30-10 in three years...75% winning percentage.

Oh the irony of these posts. Is Sexton paying you guys?
75% winning percentage in the ACC....with top 10 recruiting classes in 9 out of the last 10 years.
/The Big 12 can't get here soon enough, so it can be proven on the field, instead of debated in the forums.

Proving whether or not he is the savior that a lot of posters hope he is... proving if he's capable of increasing his rate of improvement, because as it currently stands... he's had 6-years at OC.... and has fielded meh offenses, and still intends on calling plays next year.
This is insanity.

Yeah, and you still don't get it. You have a guy that won an ACC title for the first time since 2005, and if we don't increase his salary, after other schools do, his salary would likely fall outside the top 20 in the country.
What does that say? Tells future coaches winning the conference means crap to our program. Means anything but overachieving or meeting expectations is unacceptable, in any season. It means that unless you are winning a Natty, you are going to be paid around ~2.5 million, and you better like it. Nevermind that Baylor might double your salary. Nevermind that Iowa might double your salary. Nevermind that TCU might double your salary. And they will put up with 8-4 while you do it.
Some people are just stubborn, or get their feelings hurt because we came up short this year. Get over it. We are progressing every season. But more importantly, we have created the infrastructure for the program that Bobby left in the 90s to move ourselves forward.
I would prefer that from here on out, a coach never makes less than 3 million per year at FSU. It's frankly disgusting that Auburn and Tennessee will drive the Brinks truck, and we will offer midtier PAC-12 money. You think FSU is a midtier PAC program? I don't.
Your post is pure emotion, and I think FSU everyday for not acting like you suggest, because we'd be irrelevant in 10 years. You'd still be talking about our fertile recruiting base like a Miami fan, when the realists know the entire landscape of CFB has changed.
Hoping we leave fans like you in the 90s, and find boosters with deep pockets and grand visions as we move this great program forward.

Fsu played 2 decent teams this year and went 1-1. He is paid as a top 15 coach right now which is where we are ranked 12th. Yes he won the acc which we all agree is a crap Conference and he got a bonus for that.
If they want to extend him for recruiting purposes fine. Just make sure it does not cost FSU anymore than it would now to buy him out if we decide to fire him in the future. If they want to increase his bonus for winning a national title fine.

He had a hand in that schedule since he got to fsu he begged for crap ooc and div2 games. He got what he wished for a cupcake schedule. He crapped the bed vs nc state and almost did vs vtech, usf, and Georgia tech. UF you could make the argument is a better team. How his performance this year should get a raise is beyond me.
