Neal to UF

not quite only 2 or 3 of the guys are B-team where as miami had 15 or so but definitely question some of UFs takes.

Hearns, Neal and Lawson are questionable. I dont care what the rankings say I am not a fan of hearns

Lawson is def. Hearns idk anything about
But Neal I think is going to be moving up the ranks here short

I look at like this: for the staff to accept the questionable commitments, they must trust their evaluations.

Saw Hearns two years ago against Armwood at states. Kid is a beast. Biggest kid on the field and nasty.

And an early reputation for a lot of off the field problems. Sounds like he will fit right in down there and keep Huntley in business.

Any kid committing to uf right now has questionable decision making skills bc muschump could easily be fired this year if he loses 5 games which is very likely.

I think will gets 3 years unless he absolutely bombs this year, but we could easily loose 5/6 games this year

I hear ya, but isnt it safe to say that there will be rumblings if FSU doesnt at least win the ACC this yr?

I think Jimbo has more pressure on him than Muschamp right now, and Im not saying that to flame.

And its not a bad thing at this point, but the talent is there, and hes gonna be expected to start winning big.

yeah Jimbo has to be on the hot seat if he doesn't deliver @ least and ACC title game

No way you guys shouldn't be in a bcs game next year, very favorable schedule

UF on the other hand, we would be lucky to make it to a New Years Bowl again

  • Even if Jimbo were to get canned, I think it would work out like a Zook/Meyer transition.

Can you imagine the list of coaches that would be lining up for that young talent? I cant see too many smart coaches turning that possibility down.

Its only a matter of time before Pete C is back on the recruiting trail again, lol. Seahwaks will be losing for awhile. J/k

  • Seriously, yall quit hating, UF is doing really well right now. They will get theirs, we will get ours, no reason to hate on them right now, they are getting some solid players.

  • ^^ Says the team with a no name no offer DB that just commited and another one that is middle of the pack in FLorida who is also legally a midget. Not gonna win over here man.

According to these guys, we are delusional for thinking we were getting who we got, then when we get them FSU didn't want them anyways. Hargreaves, Harris, Washington, Neal. FSU didn't fight for Willie Bailey, Brian Poole and Marcus Maye last year either.. FSU didn't really want them. Didn't want Kent Taylor or Dante Fowler either. They didn't want McMillian or Rodney Adams either.. The offers and calling them "FSU locks" was just a joke the entire time.

Oh, and one of the kids who isn't ranked on this sites aweful rankings, is the nations top DT and a five star on ESPN, and the states top ranked DT on rivals. In fact, the head guy over there mentioned Brantley as the guy he thought would make the biggest move toward five star status, despite already being in the top 100..

Yep, poor ole UF didn't just sign the best class of all the instate schools and we don't have the top class in the nation right now, nor are we on our way to finishing with another top three class overall. Yep, Urbans mistakes weren't going to be rememdied in short order at a place like UF. That hasn't proven to work out in the past has it? When UF's coaching staff is stable and is willing to put in the work and time to recruit properly, very few teams if any can match the type of roster we can put together in just two classes.

Small classes and bad evals by a leaderless team put our roster in a major hole. We've had one good class since 07 and that was the 2010 class. Now we've still got them, we've got a solid 11 and great 12 class, and this one will be the best yet, leaving UF completely restocked. FSU is one of the few teams nationally that can keep the cupboard as stacked as ours can/will be. You guys were there last year and are there this year. What's going on? We've had legit reasons for being bad the last two years. Do you? Imo, the experience, the second year staff, and the overall roster is very similar to FSU again. Guess we'll see what happens this year. Hopefully we can compete with all these top young players that FSU didn't want.

I agree with a lot of your points on the recruiting side now. UF has a solid class so far. I dont agree that you guys had a great class last year. Fowler was a nice knife in the back to FSU but UF still didnt add any playmakers on offense. I like the TEs but they need more talent at WR and RB and they didnt add either. Even if they add it in 2013 (Taylor is a stud obviously) I am not sure Taylor will be ready to move from 1A to the SEC in one year.

UF had the chance to have a truly great class if they added agholar and howard. Flipping Fowler helped but that class fell short because UF was a final 2 of some STUDS they didnt get.

You really think the overall roster is similar to FSU?

QB- FSU has a much better starter and Winston is much better than Driskell or Brissett. We also have Coker who I am very high on and trickett who can be a ken dorsey type QB
    Advantage FSU

RB FSU has Freeman and Wilder and Pender has more talent than anyone UF has

    Advantage FSU

WR FSU has 5 or 6 legit WRS and UF has debose and a bunch of question marks

    Advantage FSU

OL Advantage UF and it will stay that way until trickett leaves

DE FSU has 3 NFL players and 2 future NFL freshman this isnt even close

    Advantage FSU

DT Again FSU has so much talented depth and has goldman coming in

    Advantage FSU

LB FSU loses Bradham but UF has such bad depth at LB. Jenkins and Bostic are good but so are Christian Jones and Telvin. FSU wins out because of superior depth.

    Advantage FSU

CB Greg Reid and Xavier Rhodes are better than the freshman you started last year and we add waisome and now 5 star darby to the mix

    Advantage FSU

S Lamarcus Joyner and Elam are both studs but I would take brooks over pop saunders and FSU has better depth but I will give UF a push here cause Elam is a stud.

    Push

K FSU and it isnt close

    Advantage FSU

P FSU is starting a freshman and I have no idea who is starting at UF so I will say advantage UF and if they have a new punter than push

    Advantage UF

The talent on the rosters really isnt that close right now. UF landed good classes in 08, 09 and 11. The problem for UF has been high attrition rates of good players.

McRoy, Dunkley, Shaw, and many other good players leaving had UF starting VERY young players next year. They just dont have the talent to compete in the SEC or again FSU right now. That FSU/UF game last year was pathetic. Jimbo knew UF could not score a touchdown on offense and literally gave up once we went up 14-0. That is how little he respected UF in that game. I just dont see the talent there right now for UF.

I do think UF will have a great 2013 class. You are overrating the hell out of them but they will be good. Also, dont count on Hargreaves he will be at USF with his dad

first, i dont care where our players are ranked. jimbo has proven with the last few classes that he knows how to evaluate talent. we have 3* that are damn good.
hargreaves and harris....yes, washington and neal....no
poole and maye is a yes and bailey is a no
we wanted kent taylor and dante fowler. we told taylor we would accept the first commit from a TE and move on, he didnt believe us. fowler is b!tch made, scared of the depth chart and knew he wouldnt see the field next year at FSU but will easily be in the rotation at UF. adams was going wherever fowler went and we arent hurting at the WR position like you guys are. yeah we want mcmillian and we will still go after him. the only players in your class we want would be mcmillian and brantley, you can keep the rest. no you didnt sign the best class in the state last year and with 10 commits 2 1/2 weeks after NSD, you should have the top class this year....so far.

Agreee with a lot, but disagree with some,
We did have a good class we didn't get a big time WR or RB, but we filled some holes which is good
you don't have a top 5 class on every site, and not have a good class
That's like saying fsu had a failed class because you didn't sign any OL right?
As far as your talent goes, I agree with it all except I think we have better DT with easily and floyd and hunter
And we have better TE's you missed that position
And you said the kicker competition wasn't even close? Uhm ours was the runner up for the lou graza award soooo..
Also, the Gator fan was right our only solid class was 2010 our 08 09 classes weren't real strong, a ton of transfers, all those kids you listed were from 2010 not 08 or 09

TE I would give to UF. Kicker we could call a push but I dont think UF has better DT. The problem UF has is depth. UF cannot rotate because they have 3 good DTs. FSU has 6 DTs they feel comfortable rotating.

I think Floyd is an absolute beast. Hunter is no better than Jaccobi McDaniel who is our 4th DT. Easley is good but he is coming off of a torn acl at the end of the year. The year after that there is always an 80-90% year.

    FSU
Everette Dawkins- our most consistant DT and a very good player who is locked into one of the starting spots in my opinion

Tim Jernigan- Elite 4-3 DT who I believe will take starting job with dawkins this year

Amp McCloud- Strong 315 pound DT who is a very solid NT

Jaccobi McDaniel- Coming off ankle injury so we have to watch that but he was really turning the corner and showing his 5 star potential before his injury this year

Demonte McCallister- Pete Carroll called him the best DT in the country coming out of HS. He needed 2 years to grow from tweener into a DT but he flashed pass rushing ability and this will be a big year for him to show if hes got it or not. Still an incredible #5 DT

Eddie Goldman- #1 DT in the country isnt a bad #6 DT

Nil Lawrence Stample- Bowling ball NT type who will be a RS FR. Solid #7 DT

This doesnt include Cam Erving who would be our # 3 DT but we are trying him out at LT this spring. Even without him we have a much better DT depth chart than UF. We are also experimenting with Derrick Mitchell at OL and I am EXTREMELY high on him. Reminds me of Richard Seymour on the DL but even without them we have a better DT depth chart than UF, especially with easly coming off a torn ACL

Depends on this years results ofcourse.
Fisher has been quoted as saying last year FSU did not have the depth to overcome the run of injuries. This year Fisher says the depth IS here. He has taken the bullseye and put it on himself squarely. ACCC and BCS Bowl IMO is what we as FSU fans expect with a senior QB and great defense. OL is the question certainly.
Coach WM should be safe another unless...Florida loses 6 games again and your offense shows practically NO improvement. Your schedule is much easier this year having traded Bama and Auburn for Misery and TAMU. Neither of those teams play defense and should make even an inept Offense look good. LSU, FSU, UGA, and USCe will be trouble. A 3-4 loss season should be the prediction, could be a little better, could be a little worse.

I wouldnt call anyone easy for this team yet. UF has some extremely soft players, mainly on the oline.

And of course our depth wont be there until at least another full recruiting cycle, 2013, should put us back at playing with a solid 85.

I dont think FSU has to win a BCS gm, getting there would be enough imo.

Cant really complain about trending up, if thats the case.

    CRgator

  • The point that both coaches are under pressure to improve (Jimbo stopping "the 2 stupid losses a year" trend) and muschamp to be more competitive is valid.

One thing that hurt Muschamp was ESPN telling Meyer every tome he was on TV How full he left the cupboard at UF. It was a complete load of crap.

Jimbo did not have to deal with that issue. Also, Jimbo's first team showed improvement over Bobby's last team which bought him some time.

Muschamp's team was no better than Meyer's last team.
