I love this guy. Our DL is going to be STRONG for a long time with guys like Mitchell.

Think Mitchell is going to be a beast, he going to provide some nice depth next year

At his height, he can be huge and still not lose mobility. I can see this kid at 320 and athletic.

IMO, he's more athletic than Fluellen, which only increases his long-term potential.

If he sticks to his work program, he should become a force to be reckoned with in the middle.

I'm also intrigued with Beverly. He's an interesting get, and I know our coaches see plenty of potential in him. I hope he blocks as fiercely as he runs - could be another Lonny Pryor. Sure hope so, as I've just completed re-watching most of our games from last season, and Pryor became one of our most valuable offensive assets as the season progressed IMO. He blew up some highly touted DL's and LB's, and seldom missed a block.

can't wait to see the level of play that the competition at DE will bring this year--we're loaded with young talent.

I honestly think Mitchell gets drafted higher than Jernigan when it is all said and done. To me, Mitchell is the best DT prospect we have nabbed in a long time. The kid has top 10 potential.

OK, just watched a recent video of Mitch and he looks more like an NBA PF, than he does a DT. He has almost no bad weight on his 6'5, 300lb frame.

He also mentioned playing some 5tech, so maybe we see a little more 3-4 this year.

Most, including myself, expect Jernigan to work his way into the rotation at DT as soon as he sets foot on campus.

Is early PT as a true frosh in Mitchell's future, or is he more than likely going to take a RS?

I would think it may be in his best interest to take a RS with our new found depth at DT in order to fully acclimate to College life, and better develop physically in Vic's program. However, part of me believes that Mitchell could prove to be talented enough to work his way into the rotation early with Jernigan. So I'm really just wondering if there is a planned course for Derrick that is more defined at this point than another with regards to a RS or immediate PT?
