Miami could take its time in NCAA response

The NCAA's botched Miami investigation left UM President Donna Shalala making uncontested layups in the public statement game, twice crafting strongly worded statements at college athletics' favorite piñata in the last two weeks.
“We have suffered enough,” Shalala said.
Barring any new developments, the Miami camp could go silent until about mid-May.
From what I've gathered after asking around, Miami will likely use most or all the 90-day window before formally responding to the NCAA's Notice of Allegations.

I think we can all foretell what is coming from the NCAA. If they were getting a wrist slap, the response would have been in the mail yesterday evening.

If the ncaa rolls over on this one due to miami's posturing then they are a truly worthless organization and need to be cast on the dung heap of history. miami is guilty of the most heinous infractions in all of ncaa history. For the ncaa to negate any of this is criminal.

NJ, if that's true, it shows how hollow their football self-punishment was. They wouldn't have self-imposed crap if they were contending for championships.

That is why there is a rumor the NCAA might not honor their self-imposed sanctions. The basketball violations were just as bad and they have more evidence of it. They self impose for football when barely making .500 but they are a final four contender in Basketball (with a starter bought and paid for) and they haven't self imposed anything.

That's not a rumor. That's a cold hard reality. Those sanctions will count against what they get hit with, but that's not all they are getting by a long shot.
