FLORIDA STATE TRAVELS TO PLAY AT GEORGIA TECH

Florida State, which has won seven consecutive games against Georgia Tech, travels to play the Yellow Jackets in the newly refurbished McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the only regular season meeting between the two teams. The Seminoles' game against the Yellow Jackets marks the only meeting of the season between the two conference schools for the third consecutive season. Florida State and Georgia Tech met only once during the 2010-11 season (a 72-63 Seminole win on February 10, 2011 in Atlanta) and only once during the 2011-12 season (a 68-54 Seminole win on February 1, 2012 in Tallahassee) and last met in a traditional two-game regular season series during the 2009-10 season which resulted in a sweep of the season series by the Seminoles. Following their game against Georgia Tech, the Seminoles will play at Wake Forest on Saturday (February 9 at 12 Noon) before returning home to play host to Miami on February 13 (7:00 p.m.) and Boston College on February 16 (12 Noon).

GEORGIA TECH - NEW ON THE SEMINOLES' 2013 ACC SCHEDULE

Florida State's game against Georgia Tech on Tuesday night in Atlanta - its first and last against the Yellow Jackets during the regular season --- will mark the conclusion of the regular season "series" between the two teams. The Seminoles will not see the Yellow Jackets or Maryland or Clemson or Duke - for the reminder of the regular season (at least until the ACC Tournament begins on March 14). With those four "series" already completed, the Seminoles have yet to face Boston College, NC State, Virginia Tech or Wake Forest.

FLORIDA STATE LEADS ACC IN FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Florida State, which made more free throws (11) than Duke attempted (eight) in Saturday's game against the Blue Devils, enters Tuesday's game against Georgia Tech as the ACC leaders in free throw shooting percentage with a .723 mark. The Seminoles have shot better than 70 percent from the line in 14 of their 21 games and have made more free throws than their opponents have attempted in eight games - and are 7-1 in those games. The Seminoles are 3-1 when they shoot 80 percent or better from the free throw line as they did (.900 percent / 18 of 20) in their win over Clemson on January 24 in Tallahassee.

SNAER AMONG THE ACC'S TOP PLAYERS

All-American Michael Snaer is one of only three players in the ACC (also Erick Green of Virginia Tech and Joe Harris of Virginia) who is leading his team in BOTH score and assists entering Tuesday's game against Georgia Tech. He has led the Seminoles in scoring nine times in 21 games and in assists eight times including five of Florida State's eight ACC games. Snaer was Florida State's leading scorer with 19 points and was tied for the team lead with three assists in the Seminoles' win over Maryland on January 30.

SEMINOLES HAVE WON SEVEN STRAIGHT AGAINST GEORGIA TECH

Florida State enters Tuesday's game against Georgia Tech having defeated the Yellow Jackets in seven straight games between the two teams. The Seminoles' seven-game winning streak against Georgia Tech is tied for the Seminoles' longest winning streak against any team since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season. The Seminoles' current winning streak against the Yellow Jackets is tied for their longest winning streak against Virginia in their 22-year history in the ACC. A win over the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday would establish a new Florida State record for longest winning streak against any conference team since joining the ACC. An eighth consecutive win over Georgia Tech would rank as the longest win streak against any one conference opponent for the Seminoles as members of either the ACC (1992-present) or the Metro Conference (1976-91). Florida State is currently enjoying winning streaks against seven of their 11 ACC opponents.

FLORIDA STATE CONTINUES TO LEAD THE ACC IN FREE THROW SHOOTING

Florida State, which has shot .706 or better in five of its last six games, enters Tuesday's game against Georgia Tech shooting an ACC-leading .723 from the free throw line. Florida State shot their season-best .900 percent (18-20) from the free throw line in its victory over Clemson on January 24. Florida State is one of five ACC teams that is shooting .700 or better from the free throw line and are shooting a combined .802 (65 of 81) from the line in the last four games. Florida State led the ACC in free throw shooting percentage in both 2007 and 2008 and has led the ACC from the line twice since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season.
