No he would not have gotten it. He would not beaten Malzahn out for that job even if he was oc at FSU. he was passed over again this year for the same job.
He may perceive that he needs to be oc to get an hc job-it wouldn't hurt if he is actually a good oc. IMO If he was viewed as having good oc potential one of his past employers would have given him a shot at it.
his resume was out even to be a position coach. As far as staying though the bowl, I have no reason to think this is anything but an amicable split. Gran may appreciate the opportunity Jimbo gave to him while at the same time Jimbo thinking he needs to go in another direction.
2 men acting like professionals. I would expect nothing less from either one. hudson is also a professional so he stayed through the game.
