Found this intriguing.
Mackensie Alexander is an enigma, the anti-recruit. In an age in which top prospects' every move and tweet are documented and dissected, Alexander shuns attention.
Poverty of peace, my dad is trying to start a charity for Immokalee where they would plant fruit trees in parks and on public land. The amount of homeless people is crazy. (I'm from Naples)
I know it's difficult and probably annoying for you all (Josh, Tom, Chris, etc.) to do your job and deliver the content we (the fans and subscribers here) are asking for and pay you to do, but I don't think Mackensie or any other recruit should be obligated to provide information.
One could ARGUABLY say that a pro athlete has a responsibility to the media as part of their job. It's not in the contract, perhaps, but it's an unwritten part of the job. Guys like Barry Bonds, Albert Belle, who hated dealing with the media...have seen considerable backlash through the media.
But these kids are still in HS. I don't think they should be expected to always provide inside recruiting information to the media and they shouldn't be obligated to answer their phones at all. Obviously, the MAJORITY cherishes this attention (and that's okay...except the ones that go over the top). I almost think it's refreshing that Alexander doesn't really care for attention.
