For what it's worth, I think Mississippi State respects Samford and feels like it has to throw Stratton to ensure a best possible chance at winning. Debatable, for sure. But they seem to feel strongly about it.

So will be facing Samford with their ace if we win correct? At this point, if we drop to UAB the loser's bracket might not be so bad cuz we would get MSU with their #2 vs our #1 and either Samford or UAB with one of their weaker pitchers to advance to the final. It would leave the final game(s) up to a bunch of unreliables but that's likely to happen either way for both teams. I know its not as good as the winner's bracket but its not as bad as a loser's bracket usually is.

Right. Samford's No. 1 will pitch tomorrow. It's funny how much perception has changed about MSU. A week ago, they looked like the Phillies, now they're in serious danger of getting bounced. They're not nearly as scary with that offense and Stratton already used up, but FSU still needs to avoid the loser's bracket like the plague. Just tough to make it outta there.
