FSU decides to compete in big time college football and moves to the Big 12.

Or FSU knowingly accepts relegating itself the the new Big East and all that entails.

Actually, it's clear as day what we need to do. The academic association? Lot of good that's done.

Spetman may very well be remembered as a buffoon who failed FSU at its most crucial hour. Or he could be delivering the company line with aces in the hole he's ready to play. Lets just cheer for the latter.

If I understand this correctly, we end up getting about $16 million a year (after the ACC gets its share) and for this we give up ALL Tier 1, 2, and 3 rights ... are locked into it until at least a year after I'm dead ... and are required to play Friday night games (I assume we play other ACC teams and not local high school teams).

In the small print you'll note that one million of that amount comes from non-athletic activities. For example, we are required to perform at 37 children's birthday parties (as clowns, magicians, or balloon sculptors), sponsor 1 cupcake bake-off and 1 barbecue cookout per month, and provide up to 30 people outside the stadium at each game with collection bags with signs that say "please help, I'm poor."

I picture ESPN/ABC executives back at their offices, smoking cigars, arms around shoulders just laughing their asses off. I picture dysentery at the Swofford home.

This deal sucks on the Linda Lovelace level.
