    MY OPINION:

I think if you look at our OL from 2006-2012 there is no doubt the talent has improved. Like has been mentioned many times, the state of FSUs program was not very good in Trickett and Jimbo’s first few years. Our worst years under Trickett were 2006 and 2011. 2006 = underdeveloped talent, learning new system, and inherited lineman. With nearly the same guys, we increased our yards per game by nearly 30 yards. Hell of a coaching job with guys that were not chosen by him. As for 2011, I think we can all agree injuries created a carousel at OL. I mean Bobby Hart started 9 GAMES. Not a stab at him, he was a true freshman and how many games did he start this year? AND now for 2012, Trickett fully entrenched, with us complaining about not getting ***** and instead getting “Trickett guys.” Well, we nearly increased our rushing average by 100 yards. Yes, 100 yards with these slouches. Even more impressive, when you look at the experience of that line. That same OL helped us be 36th ranked in tackle for loss, 24th ranked rushing offense, 19th ranked total offense, and 10th ranked scoring offense. TNOLE you constantly reference the poor OL product put on the field and only mention 3rd and 1 as your reasoning. Should we be able to pick that up, hell yes. Should that define the “product” on the field though? While stats aren’t the end all be all, our national ranking in the mentioned categories is more suggestive of our OL than your repeated reference. We no doubt have room for improvement but are doing alright for ourselves.

  • Oh my! Nicely done!

Puts me in mind of a story I heard quite a few years back. See, a young lad wanted to be in his high school's marching band. As the leader was always desperate for people to join, he accepted the kid without checking to see what kind of chops he had. Comes the first game, and at half time here come the Marching Muffins. Well, it doesn't take long, when the kid, being clueless and about as uncoordinated as a newborn coat, starts running into folks, heading off into the wrong direction and just wreaks havoc on the formations. His Mom, sitting in the stands, calls out to the lady sitting next to her: "Look at that! A hundred kids out there all marching, and everyone of them is out of step, except for my son!"

And you know, calling people "middle schoolers" is a great reason for people to make it rain with the downvotes.

This high and mighty stance you seem to take, acting hard, and talking down to people, has also grown old. For the most part, you're dealing with educated adults on this board, and to talk about/to people like you often do doesn't help anything. You're not going to have a lot of people caring to pay attention to anything positive or constructive you say, when most of what you say is condescending garbage from a soap box.

I don't really downvote, and upvote often, but there are quite a few posts in the last couple years that deserved them.

I doubt your assessment of whom I am dealing with is accurate. Such people would not get their feelings hurt, ergo they do not downvote. I said middle schoolers because I mean middle schoolers. Down voting is something a pouting 12 year old does or a very immature 18 year old.

Otherwise, you just put a person on ignore.

You are saying there are grown people who are so immature as to downvote- yikes if true
