It was mentioned that Bright dove at Rodney Smith's knees in the spring game (hurting him slightly) and Jimbo absolutely went off on him. I have my opinions about Bright and an article I read on Tomahawk nation really sums up my feelings in that Jimbo should just cut him.
This kid is hurting us in many ways. He's taking up a scholly and has zero, zip, NO chance of ever playing a meaningful down here. Plus, apparently he is a dirty player. He would never be recruited under our current staff.
Why doesn't he stop being a d-ckhead and transfer? He may actually play at a lower level if he's lucky.

Waiting for him to graduate. He may have lost his shoulder pads with that play though, they may just tell him to work on class and stop by the facility every once in a while to say hello.

Didn't he do that to another player in practice? I believe I've read where he did. If that's so, then let him keep his scholarship, but don't let him on the field again whatsoever.

The kid was offered a scholarship how is he being a dick by using it? I've said it before he's the one who sniffed out the fake punt in the Florida game 2 years ago, that's worthy of a scholarship to me.

That was a huge play in that game - the score was still close at the time. But hitting Rodney low like that was idiotic. I cringed when I saw that play and Rodney not bouncing up.

Give me a break! If im justins size and rodney smith is running at me full speed im diving at his knees too. This is football. I bet jimbo wouldnt have said anything if rodney got up right away. He made the tackle and thats what his job is. :.....(

JB shouldn't be on scholarship here period...we offered him to get the other two dropouts from Byrnes (also to get Lattimore who obviously is decent) that year who never made anything of themselves except transfer 8 times.

If diving at someones knees is football, so is blatant helmet to helmet hits on defenseless players.
Its a cheap shot. Rodney wasn't even lowering his shoulder into him to even force bright to go low on him like that to tackle him.

It's just a shame. The kid should have never gotten an offer, but he did. You can't blame him for taking it. It's not his fault that he was given one in hopes of getting other players out of that school (allegedly).
Does he deserve to start, NO. Heck no. But that doesn't mean you pull his scholarship. It would send a terrible message to other players and possible incoming recruits.
