Just by posting this, I guess she wins but... (sry for the rant)

  • I swear that Dinich (yes, I am just as surprised as you are that I gave her the satisfaction), is trolling us. She simply has to be trolling, because there is no way she is really this stupid.

ESPN is doing some feature (of course, the feature has nothing to do with the actual game of football (typical ESPN)), on "Best Coaching Jobs" and each blogger is ranking the schools within their respective conference.

Of course, she has VT #1 and FSU #2. Does she not understand that the whole premise of this is to say what school is the most desirable job, and not what program is performing the best at this time/over the past 10 years? I mean, to me, it seems like common sense; the "Best Coaching Job" is the one in which the average coach would rather have. Example: TCU has been a better team than Texas over the past 5 years, but Texas is still the obvious choice in which job a coach would want.

Here reasoning for VT at #1:
"1. Virginia Tech: Frank Beamer has proven the Hokies can be national title contenders, and established Virginia Tech as the premier program in the state. The state is loaded with talent, the players can qualify, and Lane Stadium sells itself, especially on a Thursday night."

Holy good lord, where do I even start?
    - What does Frank Beamer have to do with the job itself? If VT is the best coaching job in the ACC, then who the coach is at the moment is completely irrelevant.
    - Premiere program in the state? It is the state of Virginia!
    - Loaded with talent? Uh... what? If VA is top 10 in the country in talent produced, then I'd be a little surprised.
    - The player can qualify? This has to be a troll attempt on her part, right?
    - Lane Stadium sells itself? What the hell does this even mean?

I mean, FSU has a better chance to be a perennial NC contender than does VT. Florida is at worst the #3 state in terms of talent. Believe it or not, players qualify at every school. Our stadium is bigger. We spend more money on the football program than they do. I mean, I could go on forever, but I will stop there.

I am not trying at all to turn this into a "conference thing" but if we did leave the ACC, not having this moron report on our team any longer would be a great thing to note on the "plus" column.

Any way, what say you? Troll? Or just stupid?

Honestly, I think she is just that stupid. Sorry again for the rant.

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."

  • Everyone at Espn has a role. Nothing is said or written without it being planned out. So yes, she won.

I agree that FSU is the better coaching job, for sure.

But I think you should respect VT and the State of Virginia a little bit more.

You may be surprised because the state of Florida is yearly #1 for good prospects, but yes Virginia is top 10!! (Especially the 757) A ton of great player coming out of that area.

FSU has lost to VT and UVA the last time we played them, so that should earn your respect (especially since VT is perennial Top 20 football team since mid-90's, even though they consistently choke in big games)

Heather Dinich is not trolling, her OPINION is just wrong.

  • She's trolling for conversation. They discussed this on 680 in AtL. Would they have included that in the show if FSU was listed as 1? I doubt it.

  • I think it was 2-3 years ago when I first read an article by HD - Haven't read a thing she has written since - Never thought it was worth my time, and up to now, have just ignored these types of posts as well. But then I see often several folks read her articles and starts post like these ... well, she keeps her job just by the hits she gets on creating this kind of reaction to something stupid, and it will continue with these types of so called reporters until they are totally ignored - just my opinion.

  • She picked us to lose to Duke...............in football.

  • I'm convinced the reason they hire women for many of those blogger roles is because they can be more easily puppetted. Like, for instance, if I worked for them and got the code red to write one of these ridiculous troll articles I'd say....."but sir that info's innaccurate"

She just says ok and types it. She's a Skip Bayless. She's told what to say and when she isn't she knows the drill, say what will get the most comments.

    fsufsu

  • Honestly, who cares?

VT has been a lot better than us for the past 10 years.

Also, their fans will tolerate less success than we will tolerate.

For example, if we lose 4 games again this year I think (and I am not close to being alone) that we should consider showing Jimbo the door.
A coach @ Vt would not face such pressure-ever.

She might be more of a man than Skip Bayless. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
