Jupiter, Florida high schools question. Need a little help.

  • Is there a lot of D1 football talent coming out of the Jupiter area? Is it a regular thing for kids to go to D1 schools for football from that area? What school would they most typically come from? Thanks in advance?

  • Not really a big time area. Jupiter has put some decent players out, but not many. The better players in the area typically end up at Dwyer or Gardens.

  • Tyler Cameron came out of Jupiter. But as Jmnpb996 said, most kids gravitate towards Dwyer, etc.

  • How far away is Dwyer from Jupiter?

  • Most of the top end talent comes from Riveria beach. Jupiter Hs had a kid courtney Harris sign with miami a few years back. They had a linebacker two years ago who could have been heavily recruited but he ended up in prison. Jupiter is kind of stuck in no mans land when it comes to talent. When they do have some quality players they usually end up at Dwyer.

The one school in palm beach which would dominate if they ever Allowed players to stick around would be suncoast. I think they could be like a northwestern or central if football ever meant more to them.

Problem with Suncoast is the magnet programs. Have to make sure a kid has a 2.0 to get him into IDP out of middle school, strict behavior code, etc.

If they had a good coach who did a good job making sure they got all the local kids into Suncoast, they'd be really good. Instead, they're absolutely horrible most of the time.

Jessie Hester wasn't able to get kids in to the school, but he also wasn't there very long. Let's see who he can bring to Lake Worth.

  • I'm from Jupiter, there is no talent there. Dwyer is 5 mins down the road from Jupiter High. Most of their players come from Rivera and Gardens. Jupiter is a very rich town and normally we are better at girl sports and baseball. The best player I can think of is Bosher for the Falcons. After that I can't think of another D1 player besides Cameron who is a red shirt freshmen I believe

  • I went to Jupiter. Same class as Courtney Harris who went to Miami. Ethan Jones is the kid who was solid but ended up in prison. Matt Bosher went to UM, but that was as a K/P.

Dwyer has a business magnet program that they use to recruit kids to go there to play football. Since there is no priority put on football at Jupiter, Dwyer essentially recruits any kid that could be decent to go there and join there business magnet program. Matt Elam was supposed to go to Palm Beach Lakes. Gerald Christian was supposed to go Jupiter. Courtney Harris actually went to Dwyer his FR year of HS before he quit the magnet program.

Overall Jupiter could have a pretty solid football program, but there is no real effort to do so. All the good players from the area leave, and the coach was there for 40 years (no exaggeration) until recently I believe.

Also, fish is right about Riviera Beach. If there ever was a Riviera Beach HS, they would be insanely good from a talent perspective. Suncoast is located in Riviera Beach, but is made up of half kids from the area and half that enter the I.B. Program which is a program that you have to take a test and do well on it to get in. My buddy went to that school and if you are in the I.B. Program and actually make it through, you go to Ivy League schools or Duke, I went to a card game at his place with a bunch of kids from his school. 1 Princeton, 1 Dartmouth, 3 kids going to Duke, 1 to Tulane, 1 to American, 1 to Notre Dame and the "screw ups" of the school go to UF. So to say that this school could care less about football is an under statement.

Oh, and Jupiter, Dwyer, and PB Gardens are all on the same road within 4-5 miles of each other.
