Jacobbi

  • Haven't heard much about him and his injury recovery. Dude was supposed to be a beast for us when he came out of high school. He gonna be in the depth chart this year or is he still recovering?

I believe Jimbo said that ALL players would be healed up and back for Fall Practice. I would assume Jacobbi in included in that mix. He may not be 100%, but should be ready to at least be out there doing light reps.

I'll try to check with my source and see what's what.

He's 3rd at the NG position on the preseason depth chart behind McCloud and Jernigan. It's gonna be tough for him to get on the field in his final year. I feel bad for him. no

  • I don't think it is likely but I wouldn't mind if he took a RS this year to fully heal.

I think it would be the best handling of both he and M.McCray if Jacobbi redshirted.

I don't think the coaches are actively trying to lengthen Jacobbi's stay in the program.

Yeah it's weird. We all thought he was a moose inside but the one thing that's been truly disappointing is that he was said to be a true team leader and weight room warrior. Yet throughout his FSU stay there's been work ethic questions (rumors). Weird.

True but if we strike out with all our DT prospects then all bets are off. I doubt we take kids just to fill the position. A year of R&R followed by hitting the weights hard could really help Jaccobi.

And sorry Nash, somehow I accidentally downvoted you.

  • Have heard that McDaniel's rehab is going well. What happens in August is anyone's guess. It's just a position where knees, ankles and feet take a lot of abuse.

The depth at defensive tackle is getting better with each season. I just don't see why he would redshirt in 2012, short of another injury. Playing time will get even worse next year (with Jernigan and Goldman leading the way).

No worries mate. I at first thought it was one of my stinkbutt stalkerslol. You've more than made up for it by up-voting some of my silly sheet before.

Still trying to contact my guy who has a ear to the ground so to speak. May not hear much, as Le Fish keeps the details of this type of thing locked up in his office cabinet.

I always liked Jacobbi, and hope he gets back onto the field and wreaks some havoc. I want to see some of our opponents leave the gridiron crying like little girls.

  • Will be interesting to see the impact he makes. Goldman and Shanks will make things interesting.

  • Looks like the coaching staff is open to redshirting Jacobbi if need be.

Rehabilitation has gone well for the former five-star recruit but he "is not quite all the way back," Fisher said.

The FSU coaches will monitor McDaniel's health throughout fall camp and into the early part of the season knowing that he is eligible to redshirt in 2012 if needed.

"He's open to it. I've talked to him about it and we've had that discussion," Fisher said about a potential McDaniel redshirt. "We are not planning on it but if that's what happens that's what happens. It has nothing to do with him or I. It's a physical stature where he's at with his recovery. I think it will be only fair to him because I think he has a chance to play at the next level.

"He's a great teammate and a great player."
