That didn't sound very promising. It sounded a lot like Pettway's update. The kid is waiting for a better offer. Hopefully, we continue to go after Watson and Tyler Harris because I think Cosentino is a longshot.

Perhaps, but FSU has signed the #6, #1, #2, #9 ranked classes the last few years, beating out the likes of UGA, Alabama, Auburn, UF etc. for elite national prospects and even taking elite national prospects from those schools back yards.
Some kids just want to stay home, like Pettway. How often do you see Pennsylvania talent make its way down south? Very seldom do they pick anyone else over Ohio State, Penn State, ND etc. It just doesn't happen very often.
If we weren't battling SEC schools for recruits, then we would have a problem and we're doing something wrong. Like was said on the singing day show by Fisher, "we're finding ourselves going head-to-head with Alabama more and more". Another coached piped in and said, "that's a good thing".

I'm not making any general point about recruiting against the SEC in this case. Specifically with regards to Cosentino, I don't think FSU is in a good position, and I do not expect him to be a Seminole in the end. When I wrote "better offer", I meant "better offer" for him him specifically. Like you said, it's very tough to get kids out of Pennsylvania/Ohio to come south. I don't think it happens this time, either. It sounds to me that he's going to use the FSU offer to get offers from schools that he'd much prefer to attend, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Unlike Pettway, he didn't commit to FSU.

JJ Cosentino takes in PSU Junior Day; FSU still on top?
