    One should never accept with any certainty comments made by a rodent that lives under snow. I'm pretty sure the living conditions impacts the amount of oxygen that gets to the brain.

    BS....You have no clue what you are talking about. O'Brien took over a senior laden team with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove because they got pounded by the NCAA in a case that should not have been against the players. Golden took over a program with 1 CB. Blindsided by NCAA crap that has lingered for 2 years, playing top 10 schedule in the country both years and has still managaed top ten recruiting class. Would have been a different season if Lamar Miller, Tommy Streeter, Brandon Washington, Olivier Vernon, Marcus Forston would have all returned like they should have. You should not speak on anything, since you have no clue about football.

    Sure bro, me and the rest of the country that made Bill O'Brien the coach of the year....but yeah, Golden has done so much more.

  • Michigan State at that point was one of the worst in their conference, no history, weak recruiting base.

    Miami? One of the most stories programs in CFB, in the middle of the most talented part of the country.

    Being .500 in the Big Ten while Michigan and Ohio State were rolling is not comparable to being .500 in a weak ACC.

    What was Al Golden's record at Temple? Bringing up Saban's record at MSU is like bringing up Golden's record at Temple. Golden was 7 games under .500 at Temple and Saban is 10 games over .500 at MSU....both spent 5 years at each school.

    Lemming is usually spot-on with his predictions though. Lorenzo Booker went down as an all-time great at Notre Dame.

  • IMO his results at LSU have been subject to revisionism. He did an a split title mnc with USCsr. I do not remember any other SEC title. He also lost to UAB at home if i remember correctly and to an poor UF team the year he won the mnc.

    Jimbo really stunk it up in that game , BTW.

    I also remember Iowa chucking one deep and beating him in his last game before the Saban went to Miami and murdered the Dolphins.

    No, I am saying at Golden's current career stage their results are much more similar than Golden is given credit for on this board.

    IMO we will probably not see anyone duplicate Saban's current run at Bama for the rest of my lifetime.

    And he did murder the dolphins...

  • Golden is someone alot of Husker fans (not me i think hes overrated) want if/when Bo Pelini ever leaves Lincoln partly because of his ties with new ad and former Miami AD Sean Echorst and because some think he's done a good job at Miami....
