I'll bet the PSU mess is going to cause UM to get the hammer.

  • The NCAA is going to be in the "kill everyone" mode, trying to show everyone watching that they have the balls needed to tackle this type of mess. Next up is UM, which couldn't have come at a worse time. The NCAA may have clobbered them anyway, but to set an example they may pile drive them under the turf.

  • Them being a repeat offender for the EXACT same thing that they were put on probatin for in the 90s should be enough justification for them to be "hammered".

  • I'm just tired of hearing about Miami and Probation, as I'm sure the Miami fans are as well. The NCAA needs to hurry up and get it over with so all parties can move on. I never thought it would drag out this long.

  • Not so sure. The NCAA is feeling very uneasy these days as they see their reason for being in question in the future. When the conference expansion comes to a head and we end up with the "super conferences" the NCAA may be nothing more than a useless relic. They are gong to be very careful now not to piss off their masters anymore than necessary.

  • If the NCAA goes away the Bama's and Auburn's will be open bidders for HS talent. No way does any form of college football D-1 tell the NCAA to walk, like it or not they are needed.

    But I agree with Bush, this is beyond stupid that they drag things out for this long. If they drag this through the season this can't help but to hurt Miami. But what really will make it interesting is if they DON'T rule come bowl time. Does the Canes sit another bowl if they finish 6-6 or better? If they don't finish 6-6 does last years sitting count with the NCAA?

  • Someone [can't remember who..] tweeted that an NCAA ruling could come before the beginning of the season, but I seriously doubt that...

    I don't know what the NCAA will do to Penn State, since being a pedophile doesn't give Penn State any competitive advantages on the field, cheating for the athletes, etc, and that seems to be all the NCAA cares about...

    Correct and with the NCAA being a collection of members from college institutions, they wont allow that to happen.

  • Why should they hurry a ruling? We're talking a school that (a) is a repeat (maybe rampant is a better word) offender that was on probation already and (b) wasn't nearly as compliant as their fans would like to believe. The fact that its taken this long has to be a bad sign for UM. If Robinson had nothing it would already be over with.

    The 30/30 special on ESPN is burned into my mind. They basically bragged about cheating RIGHT THERE, on film, with no remorse. They're damn lucky they apparently can't get stripped of some of their "five rangz". Well now pay the piper.

    So drop the hammer, but take your good old time as far as I'm concerned. College football doesn't need them, contrary to the belief of some and no FSU doesn't need them either.

    !Agree with you plus 1 from your cane fan! All the FSU fans should not want Miami to get hammered! You all ever think about it is taking so long because they are trying to find something and it isn’t what they want. Miami, FSU and usc are the only other teams that can beat out the sec for the BCS championship. Only three teams with the team speed to match the SEC this opining. The years we won are championships we as in Miami and FSU where loaded. I dont see any of those sec teams being able to beat those teams out! You should actually want Miami to be back on top so we can continue are Rivalry when we both are ranked high. Pretty sad being in the Military but being a Florida native they turn that game when they are playing and put something like tx and ou game. Just an example! By the way the kid you got committed for your 2014 class is a beast. He is from Auburndale and had the pleasure of watching him why I was home on leave. Real ball hawk that can play both sides of the ball however he would make big difference at safety. Fast, Tall and good size nice pick FSU fans
