It's tough to admit, but I'm definitely in agreement that a difficult regression may be on the horizon in 2013 if certain changes aren't made.
However, part of me also wants to believe that we could come out of spring camp ahead in regards to both personnel and scheme on both sides of the ball.
I think limitations at the QB position, whether they be mobility with Trickett or experience with Coker/Winston will force Jimbo to adjust the play calling/game plan which should allow for better production. With improved decision making/game management at QB and even a marginal improvement from our front 5, I'd like to think we would be able to lean on the running game to be productive and win games for us in 2013. More Alabama-esque on this side of the ball.
Defensively I think if we can manage the lack of depth and rotation at DE, play upfront with improved depth at talent at DT should at the very least allow us to remain solid against the run. We'll have to manufacture more edge pressure than we have had too in the past two seasons, but I think improved play/talent at the LB spot could potentially help in this area. The secondary should be lights out with the continued development of the youngsters.
What is really concerning is our Special Teams play after witnessing the drop off in production in 2012 paired with the loss of Hopkins in the kicking game in 2013. The dynamic return game was missing with G5 being gone and Beatty is a long way from being the role player in the field position battle that Powell was in 2010 and 2011. Given how the return/kicking games affect momentum, play calling, and field position, our Special Teams were absent in 2012 with a handful of exceptions. This will need to change in 2013 if we even going to have a chance to replicate a 10-12 win season.

Not surprised, as you are never happy.
Better than not winning the ACC and going to a crappier bowl, I guess..
