Back up QB is always better than the starter. Been going on at FSU for twelve years now.

  • I like Trickett, but if you guys think about it him and Coker did really well against the DBs that they played against. Manuel pretty much played against out first team D. I really think Coker will be a stud though. unlike Manuel he does not eye the target. BUT if EJ can get that pocket presence and look off his targets he will have a stellar sr year.

  • Trickery will be in the thick of it in 2013

  • Trickett might be the next QB and we'll probably see him more this year than people think. Trickett and EJ couldn't be more opposite IMO. EJ is good, no doubt. Trickett is a fearless gunslinger who will keep defenses honest. You won't bring the house too often against CT as you will pay with -7 most every time. With stronger rushers & O-line ;CT is a complete package. His size doesn't take much away from his ability. Is Doug Flutie or Drew Brees tall? Was Favre fast? Those are nice attributes but not indicators of what you'll do. Go Noles!

Dude. I respect your opinions as much as anyone on here. You may be onto something there imo.

    I appreciate that, really.

I can promise you the last thing Jimbo wants to be is a passing team, the passing game was just all we had, Jimbo wants to run the ball and eat up clock and wear people down.

That's where my point comes into play, adapt. If we can't run and must pass, go with the better passer. If you want the mobility at Qb, then use it .

  • Maybe EJ has free reign to run but he elects to pass it.... I mean I am sure Fisher isn't saying stay in the pocket... Also when we have ran design runs it seems more of the spread option works. Not the zone read option.... at this point EJ just has to say I am just going to play the game and stop trying to impress or live up to the hype... just be himself...

When people talk about Trent size, its not his height its his weight...You have to be worried can he last an entire season at 180-185lbs...With our OL he will definitely take some hits.

EJ, Coker, Winston, and probably Mcguire are all better, It will be either Coker or Winston as the starter next year.

Wat about the Great game Tricket had against Clemson

    CentralRockets

  • Dare I say he has a little Ken Dorsey in him?

    Matt Lauer

    What does Kenny Shaw weigh?

  • EJ is still the starter barring injury even though he can be a poor decision maker, he finds ways to win. If we can get the ball moving on the ground for 175-200yd/game his production will significantly improve as a passer and decision maker. Clint is a great back up, he isn't afraid to throw the ball and makes some great throws. Post EJ we should have a battle between Clint, Coker and Winston.

Hopefully both Maguire and Winston take RS this fall to learn the playbook and get more coaching.

I honestly worry about Kenny Shaw as well, and it doesn't look like he is getting any bigger...

He has taken some pretty good licks that he has gotten up from.

In general I worry about guys their size taking hits, I would feel bad for Clint playing behind our OL at his size. Hell EJ got beat up and he is bigger than Clint.
