Hypothetical Big-XII road trips

While Noles247 in no way insinuates that FSU plans on changing conferences, we'll take a look at some unique road trips the Big-XII could offer just for fun.

  • That is the pne of the only downsides of moving to the Big 12 from a fans perspective. Even though games at those stadiums would be awesome and dwarf almost anything we deal with (exception of possibly Clemson and Lane Stadium on Thursday Nights)

I'd rather go hang out in Boston, Raleigh, Miami, Atlanta than

Waco, Manhattan, Stillwater, or Lubbock. Games thre would be much better though. To be fair, Austin is awesome to visit and at TCU I can party in Dallas

  • I had a great time in Oklahoma City two years ago and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Would love to go to Austin. I am ready to go now!

  • I think regular games at these stadiums for the team will be great. We will finally have big in conference games. The only other football teams(and schools) we play with any regularity is Clemson in conference and Florida OOC. The main attraction is the football game, not the cities where they are played. Some of the smaller cities are nicer to travel to anyways because they have their own feel and special stuff about them.

  • Your gonna get the "negative nancies" no matter what. Let them keep their ass on the couch while the rest of us expierence new stadiums and new traditions.

  • OKC Bricktown was pretty sweet I must say. Would go back

  • I live in Moore (between OKC and Norman) and I love tailgating with my OU buddies. They do harass me about the two games and of course the 2000 MNC but it's always a good time. I personally would love to see us join the Big XII, so I could see more games. I am a season ticket holder/booster and only get to Tally for two a year. Having the team come this way would be nice. I would at the very least see them when they play OU or OSU and more than likely a couple more.

  • You could help bring in Baylor's new stadium on the river.

That looks like a scene from The Mummy.

Thats where I was at as well. Pretty much slept in Toby Keiths Restaraunt. They tried to start the "Boomer-Sooner" chant in the bar but the Nole fans were louder. Was a good time except for the idiot college kids doing a retarded version of the tomahawk chop as I was trying to drive out. Would love to see Bevo and Renegade in the same venue.

  • Since I attend law school in Dallas, I'd love for FSU to join the Big 12.

I personally think OU sucked....the midwest in general made me thankful I was born in Florida.

The atmosphere was lame (even before getting blown out), there was no trash talk, and the bar scene was pathetic compared to Tallahassee.

FSU is not a "southern school" eventhough we're located in the South.

I'd much rather travel to Miami, Atlanta, Boston, NY, and Clemson.

I'd much rather FSU compete financially with the SEC and have better matchups than the ACC.

dannnggg it looks nice. I guess that's what you get for the best season in school history and a Heisman winner, not to mention a successful hoops program.

A few years ago the Baylor regents finally figured out that success in athletics was important. Since then they've sunk a ton of money into the athletic program. It's starting to payoff in results on the field. Having the money to invest was never a problem (Baylor is lucky to have a fair number of generous big money alums). Baylor is now financially committed to success - and not just in academics.

World class football stadium is on the way and we're even getting a brand new track & field facility. The basketball facility is first rate and our baseball and softball stadiums are among the best in the nation. Your teams will enjoy playing here.

Waco is clearly not Dallas or Austin but I think you guys would enjoy the road trip. With a metro population of about 225,000 Waco is significantly smaller but the people are extraordinarily friendly. I guarantee that you could walk up to any tailgate party wearing your FSU gear and be welcomed.

Waco is basically a college town that is large enough to have all the major hotel and restaurants plus a fair population of local establishments for dining and libations. I think you'll have a great time.

Around here football is king. I highly suggest that you come in on Friday morning for a Saturday game so that you can take in a local high school football game. Florida high school football is amazing but I think you'll really enjoy Texas high school football. The game and the all the pageantry surrounding it are incredible. Friday night lights is real.

One thing is for sure. The Big 12 wants FSU.

  • I plan on moving to Oklahoma City next year. So this would be great for me. I would be at the OU, OSU, and will try to get to the Texas game.
