Better they cut it from usf than fsu(which will also have large cuts).

I realize this statement verges on the political, but when a state has budget problems, ceasing to educate its own citizens is indeed a perilous solution.

It's not like there's another board to which you can be banished....everything goes in one place here on Unconquered.

A UF grad Senator J.D. Alexander proposed the cuts. He has been at odds with USF with this polytech campus from the start. It should have never been in Polk County to begin with.

There needs to be budget cuts, but educational budget cuts should be the last cuts to be made.

That is terrible.. I agree that some cuts need to be made but education isn't the place to start.

All florida universities will be affected including fsu. I'm not sure why everyone is freaking about usf when fsu is facing a large cut as well. If cutting more from usf saves fsu some dollars then I'm all for it. This is an fsu board afterall!

Yes, they are all going to feel the pain. But USF's cut is about 60% of their budget. UF and FSU will lose about 25%. I can't stand USF but they are getting screwed.

Not our or fsu's problem. Let the usf people worry about it on a usf board. Where is the uproar for fsu's budget cuts? Where does your loyalty fall?

If usf fell off the face of the earth it wouldn't affect fsu one bit!

No it doesn't help fsu to have other research schools splitting the grant and research pie. Less competition means more money for fsu. How do you not see that?
