Georgia DL 'almost' commits to FSU

Atlanta (Ga.) Chamblee Charter defensive end Davin Bellamy spent a few days at Florida State with the staff and now considers the Seminoles his leader.

Very nice! This is a great kid to have in our class. Compliments what we have on the roster perfectly.

I want to add that Davin Bellamy is a character. He has a great personality and is a fun guy to talk on the phone with. He is the type that will be a heavy recruiter for the school he chooses. He may not be a five-star recruit, but he is the type to go after every big name and try to get them to join him in the 2013 class.

Yeah, and last year we landed Mario Edwards and Chris Casher at DE, while they landed low 4* Shaq Lawson and 3* Martin Aiken.

Someone on another board who has coached against him mentioned he was thin in the hips and legs, and thus might have a hard time putting on weight, ala Telvin Smith. I know he is only a HS JR and has time, but if we lose Werner to the draft, we really need to bring in 2 game ready DE's to fill out our rotation. I'm looking at our DE board right now, and I don't see many of those. I'm sure some will emerge, but we have missed on quite a few of our top targets thus far.

Once this guy puts on weight, look out. I've stood next to him, and he's thin but has a great frame. He was at a spring scrimmage to watch Robert Nkemdiche and a lot of the college coaches there also had their eyes on him.
