  • Feel bad for him, but I respect UF (sick) for not putting up with the BS. The more schools that do that the less "drama" we'd be having.

  • He decommitted and they got two more LB commits so this was more on him than Kirkland situation.

Yep, though it is kinda odd that they were still recruiting him a week ago when the other two were on board as EE's

What BS? He was actually torn between USC and UF.. Yes was slightly leaning to go play with former teammate Leonard Williams, but he was still really considering UF. I talked to him earlier and he is pissed and heart broken. He shut down all other visits to just concentrate on USC and UF. I don't know what has been put out in the media over the past 2 months, but this was really a case of a kid loving his childhood favorite, and loving a school that fits his talents best.

I can't say much, but I can tell you that Muschamp tried to strong arm the situation starting about 2 weeks ago and through it all he still was considering them. I won't go into details because It's not my place to air that out.

He wanted to look around and make sure he was making the right decision for himself. How is that BS? UF could have pulled his offer when he decommitted, but they didn't. UF didn't have to tell Powell he had until Monday to make a decision, but they did. UF was playing games as much, if not more, than he was. I'd note that college coaches frequently complain that the NCAA rules don't give them enough ability to go out and evaluate kids and find out who is a good fit. Why is it OK for college coaches to want more of that, but not for high school seniors? The more schools try to strong-arm kids into taking offers, the more "drama" there will be after the kids show up on campus and realize they've made a terrible mistake.

  • LB like WR and imo QB is a major need for them and they have let 2 solid LB's get away the past week

  • LOL its funny how fans support one kid and they say its a kids fault because he wants to wait. This is no different from Kirkland at all. He wanted to make a decision on signing day and that's his choice. What does making a choice on Monday change from Wed?

Powell decommitted, UF took Anzalone, Rolin and I believe Davis in the meantime. Powell just went on a trip to his other finalist, UF class is just about full and are still in play for some other commits they have higher rated (Ramsey, Clark, Bostwick). Needed to know if they'd have room for those other guys?

So true. He can tell UF yes or no on Monday and announce on Wednesday. If you don't know by now, shame on you. If UF wasn't the spot for you to begin with, then why commit for almost a yr. I'm sorry, but if he is heartbroken then he is a dumbass for de-committing in the first place.

  • This is more BS spin from a BS school ! the other LB's uf have are ILB types - Powell a OLB speed cover LB. USC beat uf so the show the kid up ! I hope the high school and coach remembers this.

  • Well I am not going to get into an argument with anyone about this. Recruits can look around if they want, but don't be surprised when they shut the door on you. The more an more this happens, the less recruits will jump into decisions.

Well we all love CFB because of the development of 5* and 4* players and not because we want to watch Jimbo and Nick Saban recruit, so I doubt this becomes a trend. The kids will always be the show!

Obviously this is a completely one-sided story... but Powell said the gator staff told him he had until Monday. If they did actually say that, then bad on UF.

Majority of people watching college football pay not attention to recruiting. They don't care about high school accolades.
