Jimbo needs to take a hard look at what he does to make the team perform this badly on the road and coming off by weeks. The fact we some how won just shows how much better we were than them.

I don't think we need to eat crow. We were dead, and we did NOT look like a good team tonight. We looked like an average bumbling ACC team, just like we always do on the road.
No crow for people who thought we would lose, because it absolutely looked like we would lose.
Nonetheless, hell yes, let's please win the ACCCG.

As a head coach? I give him a pass. He listened to someone at halftime, that much is obvious.

It was indeed an UGLY win, but all top teams have these kinds of games. Especially on the road on a Thursday with a great crowd in Blacksburg.

Thing is, if we usually looked good on the road, this kind of performance--even a loss!--would be OK. Nobody worries about Alabama just because they didn't dominate a so-so LSU on the road, because Alabama usually looks good anywhere.
But we suck on the road in EVERY GAME. We are a full 5-6 touchdowns worse on the road. Something real is going on. Not an accident.
This is a coaching/process issue and it's clear our coaches don't have an answer.

One last thing. You could have told me that was last year's OL we were watching and I'd have believed it.
5 sacks! Negative rushing yards!??
Our OL is still pretty bad.
Is the verdict in on our OL coach? Is it at least clear that, if he's not awful, he's at least not great?
Or is it the system and the playcalling that's making our OL look so godawful on the road?

I figured it was an accident. Glad I stayed up for this game, as it was my FIRST game this year. I'll take a W any day of the week and eat crow on this occasion(as I'm usually fairly positive, but tonight was very on the negative side).

Yeah I did too, but any objective observer would have written us off after VT went up, possibly even after the safety. We were getting absolutely blown off the field at that point.
OK, so sure, I'll eat crow, I guess, along with a majority of FSU fans.

I actually think announcers hit the nail on the head, VT was blitzing a lot and were quick off the ball and we were running counters and run plays that took way too long to develop and our brilliant coaches didn't think that was a problem. Actually, special teams coaching by Gran has been pathetic other than kickoffs and fumbling.
