  • UF is on the brink of moving to 3-4 and losing the series to GFCU.

They claim it is youth, but we are just as young as them and are looking better than what some thought early. Yes I know we have only played small schools so far, but so have the gators

FGCU just recently moved up to D1. Jacksonville is usually a good ball club but are having a down year. This would be a huge blow to uf

  • They lost:

    SP/DH Johnson (1st round)
    C Zunino (1st round)
    SS Fontana (2nd round)
    RP Rodriquez (2nd round)
    CP/OF Maddox (3rd round)
    SP Randall (7th round)
    1st Tucker (7th round)
    2nd Piggott (9th round)
    RP Larson (20th round)
    OF Thompson (46th round)

They had to replace 3 starting pitchers in Randall, Johnson and Whitson(one went down with a season ending injury), their two primary relief pitchers in Larson and Rodriguez (ate the bulk of their innings) and their closer in Maddox.

Fontana, Pigott,Tucker, Zunino, Johnson and Maddox all batted in the top-6 of the order.

Most of these guys were 3 and 4 year starters. They had a ton of success at UF (unprecedented really), but Kevin O'Sullivan really layed an egg, in my opinion. They won one title in his time at UF and it was the 2012 conference tournament.

They've never really been a powerhouse in baseball and their success seems to come in go in stretches, but the above post should give you an idea of why they're struggling.

Well, I would argue the "solid player" comment. They clearly have the talent, just not the production. They are definitely going through some learning curves.

People should appreciates the consistency of FSU baseball. Notice some of the powerhouses like Texas, LSU and Miami in the last decade. All have won titles, all have had shotty seasons too.
