  • Wonder who they go after? Someone with an offensive mind should love that job.

Would be a colossal risk and likely a big mistake.

I think that would also be a mistake for different reasons.

Let's hope. That would be a glorious meltdown.

    Agree. Watch it burn.

Guy was coaching HS a year ago and alot of emphasis has been placed recently on guys having "HC experience" for big time jobs. Not only does he have no college HC experience but he has only one year of college OC experience. Arky Meltdown check.

Clemson is in love with this guy and is willing to try and pay him almost low ACC HC money to retain him but can't compete for SEC HC money. They will go insane if he leaves. I'm not sold on him yet. He's had one year of modest success that looks promising but was very pedestrian without Watkins and had a veteran OL that is now gutted. I expect him and Tajh Boyd to regress as teams can focus more on Watkins in the absence of Allen.

As for Malzahn, well he is a bit nuts and his wife is bat schnat crazy. They bring drama wherever they go and his prized recruit Dyer is likely unable to transfer with him. I don't know how well he'd handle a big time job. He kinda exemplifies what I think will happen to Chad Morris...built his legend on a star player but is a one trick pony made to look like a genius in the short-term.

    Huge mistake.

How in the world is this a huge mistake?

    Lied to his boss.

    Covered up his actions.

    Circumvented fair hiring practices.

Screwing around on your wife isn't a fireable offense - those are.

    The Apex Nole

  • I did advertising business with an Auto Dealer Group in Louisville when BP was the HC up there. We, at the request of our client, negotiated a guest appearance of him in a series of TV spots for our customer. After getting the deal done, he kept putting us off in violation of his agreement, and when we finally got the camera crews and all arranged, he did show up to deliver the most wooden Indian impression of a pitchman I've just about ever seen, and we've worked with and seen jillions of fat, chawbaccy business owners that think their presence in a TV spot will call folks to action (it does, usually to have people laugh at them for coming off as ginormous, ill-spoken rubes). He was extremely arrogant, and disrespected everyone within earshot. I called him an icehole (just out of earshot dontcherknow), and had to be physically restrained from getting tore in at him when he in no uncertain terms told my wife to piss off if she didn't like his delivery.

He also treated my Falcons like shit, and for that, I say - "May the Fleas of a Thousand Camels nest in your pubic hairs".

He can corch offense though, and will prolly land somewhere and do this all over again.

Completely agree. The guy is a phenomenal coach, but he screwed up big, lied, made his bosses look the fool...and opens the University up for God knows what with this volleyball player.

Imagine if she decides she was coerced into getting on the motorcycle, for fear of losing her job. I'd like one of our resident attorneys to break that down...seems like it's her word against his.

Firing his ass was the right thing to do...not sure why placing morality above success is "stupid".

Exactly. He gave his mistress a job. You have to fire him for that alone.
