Florida State faces the only defense to rival its own

  • The Florida Gators are better than any defense the Florida State offense has seen this season and it's not even remotely close.

    Well. At least on Saturdays.

    Because as the FSU offensive players have repeatedly pointed out this week, they feel like they face the best defense in the country every day in practice.

    "If we make plays on those guys," FSU wide receiver Rodney Smith said. "We can make plays on anybody."

    So far in 2012 the Seminoles have faced just one defense ranked in the Top 20 in the nation.

    Including yall, we play 4 Offenses in the top 25 in Total Offense. FSU played 1, that was Clemson

    TAMU is one but who the hell are the others? Louisiana Lafayette? I know yall had trouble with them.

    Tennessee, UGA and FSU are the other. We have not allowed more than 20 pts all year either

  • If you guys played TAMU today, they would win by at least 2 touchdowns. You are VERY fortunate that you played them their first game of the year in Johnny Football's first college game. Tennessee has a good offense, probably better than UGA but didn't they score 20? You have not played anybody in the same league as Clemson on offense. I don't think that you have played an offense that is as well rounded as FSU that has a great defense to go along with it. If we score the 20 that Tennessee did, 95% chance FSU wins.

    aTm's OL would be the best in the ACC. That alone gives them a serious edge over Clemson. Clemson has a serious edge in weapons. Overall, the OL edge wins out every time.

    That first gm excuse doesn't matter, in this case. UF had several starters go down in that gm, it was Driskel's 1st rd start, UF also has a brand new Off-coord/ OL coach, blah blah blah...

    UF's defense would look 10x better if the offense was better.

    UT's offense has faced:

    UF
    UGA
    Bama
    USCe

    - They have only allowed 11 sacks (on well over 400 pass atts) without any running gm

    - avg 36 pts/gm

    - 44 vs UGA, 35 vs USCe, 20 vs UF, 13 vs Bama

    Thats impressive for any offense against those defenses.

    How about this stat gates....0-3 against Jimbo after this weekend.
