Noles247.com takes a look at five prospects taking official visits to schools other than Florida State that could impact the outcome of the 'Noles' 2012 signing class.

  • So the coaches we get don't try to recruit their previous players out of respect for their former employer. However, the coaches that leave FSU don't abide by this and try to take recruits with them? That doesn't seem very fair at all. Either our new coaches should be doing this as well or we should not allow our former coaches to do this. Thoughts?

  • I'm curious, when a coach is at one school, and is telling the kid "school x is the best place for you" what does he say when he moves to a new school "forget what I said before, school y is THE place for you, I was only joking before"

"Don't mistake lack of talent for genius." Type O Negative

    Surely not serious. DeMarcus Walker.

  • Walker chose to follow. Pruitt did not actively recruit him to FSU. I think it is fine to leave it in the players hands, but for a coach to actively recruit against a former employer is the point I am making.

How do you know that Golson did not call up Craig? If he was Golson's primary recruiter, is it so hard to believe that they have built a good relationship and Golson is interested in seeing what Auburn has to offer? According to most Noles that is what happened with Walker and Pruitt. I have no idea who initiated contact so will wait until all the facts come to light before assigning blame. Either way, I like that FSU gets the last visit.

Wouldnt surprise me if craig recruited him. Guy is full of himself and very arrogant. I know multiple people who are probably happy he's gone. Amazing recruiter tho. Not sure on coaching ability yet bc ej wasnt very good his 2 yrs here but Jimbo is also the qb coach too.

  • One of the things that I always wondered about, and don't really get with recruiting, is the kids that wait to signing day to make their decision.

I would think they would want to do all they can to help their new team out, and that would include:
A-Helping to recruit the other top targets of their new team.
2-Not making my future coaches waist valuable time, and resources on me, so they can be used on getting other recruits into the class.
D-Letting the coaches know I am in this class, so they can decide who else they need to go after, and who they don't.

Waiting to the very last minute means, you can do none of those things.

If a teams ability to win games, and championships, is a factor in where they will sign, they should make their choice no later than Jan-1, and then start trying to help their new team.

I am sure some of these kids are silent commits, and doing just what I have suggested, but are just having fun playing it out to the very end; but the ones that are really dragging it out to signing day, and keeping the coaches guessing, well I just don't get that.

With that said, I hope we get them all, and will forgive the ones who were dragging their feet, as soon as they sign.

    GO NOLES!

This /\. I've heard the very same. Man is highly intelligent, doesn't mind showing it and is loyal mostly to himself. Smooth talker, and looks at scruples very different than most. Heard it would be a bad idea for him to poke his nose in Tally right now, as there are several who would happily rearrange it for him. Word is he told A LOT of people he was intact, when he had NO intention of being so. The term sleaze ball was used a time or two. Apparently what I originally dismissed as Hillbilly Hokey from the Crimson Tide fans as bullacrapolla regarding his tactics, had a basis in veracity. He will be a foe on the recruiting trail for some time to come. Already is matter of fact.
