Fisher confirms Eliot to Kentucky

During the Orange Bowl press conference, Fisher confirms what has long been suspected, Florida State defensive ends coach D.J. Eliot will be Kentucky's defensive coordinator.

Fisher also said that Stoops will "help out" with regards to bowl preparation.

Elliot was a definitely great but having the type of players he coached could make our next DE coach job as easy possible. We still have some talent, making another good Defensive coach hire will assure we don't miss much.

Precisely, We had a running back coach teaching our DEs before him. He did his job and i appreciate him for it. FSU will be able to replace him which is why Jimbo didn't promote him to DC like Kentucky did.

It helps when you have 3 first/2nd round players to coach. He did his job well, yes, but he's far from irreplaceable. If Fisher thought he was, he would have hired him as the DC.

Aka ways good to see our coaches moving upward. Sucks in a way and as much as I question Jimbo, dude hires quality assistants.
