I think we could go uptempo for a critical series or (or three). If we get a lead and are in the proper position, go uptempo to see if you can put the other team away early. If you do and you get up by three scores, then slow it back down, (still maybe using no huddle) and grind it off with the running game and short passing attack. This all assumes we have the ability to consistently run the ball successfully.

We had an OL that could block in the 90's.
When this OL proves it can block consistently, maybe.
Otherwise we'll just give the ball back to the opponent that much faster.

If EJ could pull it off, I would like to see it become part of the game plan. As far as 8 minutes drives that demoralize opponents. I was totally that guy in the past,but we've had a problem at times under Fisher with killing our own l drives with too many plays that take to long to develop as we try to stay ahead of the chains. Give men a good old fashion big play that eats up 1/2 the field and a touchdown two plays later.

As far as defenses getting tired.That is already occurring,and it's not a problem that is specific to fast break or no huddle.If a couple fast break drives could catch a team off guard and give us that extra score we need,we could avoid losses like the Virginia game,which was a great example of defense finally folding after too much offensive ineptitude.

Jimbo's offense is successful when his OL isn't terrible and his QB isn't playing injured. Just go back to 09 before Ponder got injured in the Clemson game.
