FSU players in the draft

  • Where do you think the FSU players will go in the draft? For discussions sake where you think they will go, and where you hope they go.

Zebrie Sanders- 2nd Rd to the Eagles/ Honestly hope he goes to the Eagles. Would be a great fit in their zone scheme and mobile QB. With their recent need for a OT he could get some early PT.

Nigel Bradham- 3rd Rd. to the Redskins/ Ideally, I would love to see him with the Ravens or even Arizona. IMO he's a perfect 3-4 MLB.

Andrew Datko- 4th Rd. to the Lions/ I think the Lions are a good fit, but the Redskins/Eagles/Houston are better for him. IMO Houston would be the best fit. Datko is a perfect Kubiak OT, but the question is can he stay healthy?

Mike Harris- 6th Rd. to the Colts/ This is a bit biased, but I want him with the Bucs. I think he'd be a solid 3rd or 4th CB. Especially if Tampa gets Claiborne, he would fit well there.

    Thoughts?

  • I'm not good at predicting stuff like this. But if mike Harris goes that late, which he probably will, I think someone is getting a steal. Does Powell get drafted? Not sure how many/ if any punters get drafted.

  • Mike Harris to the Phins! Bring him back to Dade County!

  • I think Bradham would be perfect for Pittsburgh. 3-4 ILB is perfect for his skillset and he'd replace James Farrior. It would be pretty cool seeing him next to Timmons, as much as I can't stand Pittsburgh.

Harris just strikes me as a pro. I really feel he's going to have a solid career somewhere.

Next year is when we reclaim our spot as a legit football factory.

Agree about Harris. I'm a tad surprised he isn't getting more attention.

But I will say this, there is no better showcase of FSU's mediocrity over the last few years than the NFL Draft. Christ, GaTech will have had three WRs taken in the first round in the last five years. And they are an OPTION TEAM!!

  • Sanders will fall to the Chargers in the 2ed.
Bradham will fall to the Colts in the 4th.
Datko will fall to the Lions in the 5th.
Harris I believe will go higher than we all think, maybe the Saints in the 5th.
    Powell in the 7th.

Reed, Parks, Jones and Thomas will not get drafter but should get quick invites.
Spurlock won't get drafter and might get a camp invite.

We always tend to overrate our own players by at least a couple rounds.

  • I'm not great at predicting these things either, but I do hope we're close to getting back to where we were, putting a lot of players in the NFL. We've really fallen off the last few years.

Some think next year will have a lot of Noles taken, but I'm not as sure.

Jenkins will go in round one and I assume Werner will go at least round two. Rhodes could go high as well, but I'm not too sure after that. Some guys need some big years to be consider early round selections (EJ, Rodney Smith, Christian Jones).

Would love this. Need some Noles on the phins. Might make being a dolphin fan bearable again

  • I'd love to see Nigel get drafted by SF. SF's ILBs make a ton of plays but occasionally get nicked up and SF likely will lose its top backup ILB to UFA. P-Will would be a good mentor for Nigel.

FSU Football. Making cool the new swag since 2013.

  • Good call on Powell. He should be the first Punter off the board, but you never know when that's going to be. The 2013 draft should be much better for us. I could see Rhodes, Werner, Jenkins, and Christian Jones all go in the 1st round. Getting 4 first rounders is a bit of a stretch, but all of them have the potential to go that high. Also, guys like Reid, Joyner, Rodney Smith, Dawkins, and Carradine will get drafted. I really hope Joyner and Werner stay for their Sr years though.

Comparing the 10',11',and 12' drafts to the 2013 draft really shows the progress we've made.

I think Jenkins, Werner and Carradine are all possible first rounders. Passrushers are the most important players after franchise QB and LT. The NFL is a passing league. Pressuring the QB is all important.

Jenkins is the classic FSU speedrusher only now he's getting OLB training in college instead of having it forced on him at the next level (like Reinard Wilson and Kam). He's on every scouts radar and barring injury is an easy first rounder.

Werner is either the most well-coached DE ever or his natural instincts for the game are off the charts. Either way he's a high pick. He's disruptive as hell, sniffing out screens and diagnosing run or pass. There aren't stats for what he does best a la Howie Long.

Carradine is potentially the best of the three. Speed, power and a nasty disposition. He was a wrecking crew against UF. He can make a ton of money with a big year.

EJ, Rodney, Dawk, Greg and CJ if he leaves could all be chosen in the first three rounds with huge seasons.

I'm not sure about Rhodes. I just don't know if he has the top speed for an NFL corner. Could be another Antrel Rolle.
