FSU lands DE commit

  • Is he ranked appropriately? With all the DE talent on the board for FSU, it seems strange to me that they would accept the commitment of a 3-star this early. I would assume most would expect him to rise in the rankings.

  • We need 3 DEs in this class. He's a 6'3 260 LB DE from nearby. If we offered and accepted his commitment, then you know what our staff thinks of him. Just look at his offer list. Not to mention every highly ranked DE in this class that we're targeting seem to be obnoxiously flaky.

Not picking on you because I know there are many that think this, but......
Jimbo and coaches >>>>>evaluating players than Rivals or any of the other AMATUERS giving players stars.

Like going after Jacksonville players. They are #2 in professionals produced per 100,000 population behind Jackson, Miss and way ahead of Dade.

Yep, I know. I'm from jax, played sports here. Actually lots of my friends and teammates played college or pro ball. Some even still play. Jax is loaded for 2014 and 2015 for football and basketball.
I still help coach some when I have time

What time frame are you using, because a lot of players from this area since about 2000 have been bust in college. I know because I played with three of them in Bryan Evans, Dee Webb and Dwayne Grace. I also was a freshman when Chris Turner and Lonnie Davis signed with FSU and never made it. A matter of a fact Florida and FSU have had bad luck with kids from this area in that time frame. Now the 90's was a different story when a lot of players from schools like Raines, Ribault and Andrew Jackson were beasting in college.
