"FSU fans complain too much"

  • My concerns aren't soley based on last nights game. We have a fundamental problem with not jumping on lesser teams early and putting them away before they have an opportunity to make a game out of it.

  • Depends on when you became an FSU fan. For me, it was 1989 and I saw nothing but dominance for 12 years. Losing like 15 times over 12 years. I knew Weinke... was at FSU during our '99 national title.

Hell yes, I was spoiled. Therefore, my expectations for FSU have always been the same. If we don't crush a team, it pisses me off to this day.

If someone became a Nole fan around like 2004, I don't think their 2012 expectations would be the same.

    Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!

I became a fan in 2002 (granted I did watch the 1999 and 2000 title games) and my expectations were the same as yours.

This is my problem as well and although I try my best to lower my expectations, I just can't. I was fortunate enough to be present at most games during the late 80s through our last NC game and it is extremely frustrating to see a team with as much talent as this team has not executing like they should.

  • Question?

How many of the posters here, who are currently calling out the "complainers" will be throwing a royal fit next years after we lose 3-4 games to teams we should beat....due the same exact things that many people currently complaining about?

Playing down to your competition + out-of-sequence playcalling + poor game management will come to reap with a non-experienced QB and a defense that doesn't have 6-7 experienced NFL level players in their prime...

Go ahead and enjoy this season... celebrate your moment.... but don't throw stones at the people who realize where the train is heading... You will likely be joining us very shortly, unless Jimbo becomes the first coach in history to magically obtain the intangibles he doesn't currently possess.

This next year is a complete waste if Jimbo retains the OC reins... This isn't rocket science... and deep down we all know it, but some of us are choosing to put on the blinders.

I've been a fan longer than that. Yet, i'm realistic. These are 18-22 kids that go through a lot of different stuff throughout the year. To expect them to be at the top of their game all the time is ridiculous... If you pay attention to college football as a whole, you will see every team has multiple uninspiring peformances. LSU, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, the list goes on and on with teams that don't crush who they are "supposed to".. It's great to have high expecations, but they need to be realistic.

We were in a no win situation.

    1. If we would have won 70-0 everyone would have said the team sucked and we were supposed to.
    2. I we would have won 7-0 everone would have said the team sucked and were were supposed to.
    3. If we would have lost everyone would have said our team sucked and Jimbo needs to be fired.
    4. We win 31-10 in a fairly dominating performance and a lot of our "fans" are satisfied because we didn't win by 70...

My point was we dominate between the 20 yard lines but don't put the points on the board to put these games away early. When you allow these teams to hang around like that all it takes is one blown coverage or fluke play and they most certainly are in the game. My post wasn't solely focused on last nights game either, we did the same thing with NC State and GA Tech.

GT of no bowl wins? oh wait.

Aren't you one of the posters who has been waiting for the "experienced" QB to be gone? Just saying dude, go back nad read your posts, you bagged on EJ all year and now "oh calamity, inexperienced QB". Some of you guys need to STFU. This isn't about next year, it is about this year. 12-2 while most of you predicted 11-3.

I think we all see the limitations, but what makes you think this program will start losing all of a sudden? Fisher is 31-10, 3-0 in bowls (all versus ranked teams), has a conference title and is 3-1 versus our rivals. The program is strengthening, not weakening.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Fisher to change. Most coaches do as they learn and mature.

I had 3 fans (UF, UGA and auburn) tell me they would have broken their TV's (all said that unsolicited) if their team cared enough to show up but lost focus repeatedly in the red zone and let NIU hang around.

One friend who is a USC sr fan said, at least FSU cared enough to show up for the team dinner.

Hatian, I would submit in our conference with this schedule 12 wins is not asking too much.

we are not complaining we aren't winning the SEc every year and if we were in a real conference we would have been 8-4 or 7-5 this year while having arguably as much talent as anyone else in the country.

however, I think a lot of you are missing the point: do we see progress? That isn't just wins and losses. it is also

1.does this team show a killer instinct-last night, the answer was no-yet again.

    2. does the offense continue to look like charlie foxtrot in 3rd down and in the red zone-the answer is yes, again.

    3. did Jimbo refuse to pick the low hanging fruit again? arguably, yes when the dl is 240 across the front. At least matt Millen thought so. however, that is a debatable point.

    4. as good as this defense is (and it is very good) does it let up whne teams are on the ropes-yes. we saw it when NIU drove down the field when we were up 17-3. Gt, Vt, arguably USF, etc.

however, #4 is a very minor point campared to 1-3.

I am not listing individual players because an individual player is actually minor in this overall proces.

1 is inaccurate, they kept firing, just didn't get it done. lack of killer instinct? NO, just bad play
2 again you love to be vernose and say the same thing over and over.....read below
3 same as number 2, only problem with this team. Failure to pick low fruit. All year long.
4 HELL NO. One perfectly executed long pass gets them the yards, the guys was perfectly covered and their TD was on a pick. So please spare me this BS analysis. That comment was pure CRAP.

Only team some of our fans would be happy with are the Showtime Lakers, nothing less will suffice.

We have QB's on the roster which a much higher ceiling potential than EJ... but they will not reach EJ's average output until they get a lot more experience. I stick by my call... If I was the coach, EJ wouldn't have played another game after NC State.... we would be in a much better position going into the 2013 season.... I'm an all or nothing type of guy though...

  • Or the Bulls 72-10 record, but they would complain about the 10 losses. I don't think anyone would be satisfied with a national championship unless you rolled every team on our schedule.

The same complaints would be here if we held onto our lead against NC St. and UF.

So, you'd give up an Orange Bowl berth, ACC Championship this year so we could be in a much better position next year. LMAO STFU
Let me visualize this: lack of experience costs us one more game this year, so we don't play ACC championship game, we go to another non-BCS bowl, and wind up going 10-3. Next year we are sitting in a much better position so instead of losing 3-4 games as you predict, we lose 2-3 and wind up without ACC chamionship and non BCS bowl.

    YOU ARE FIRED!
