Quick, someone tell me what to think about this. His bio doesn't amaze me. UCLA was not good in 2011. No ties to south Florida that I see. But, and I'll say it, he is black. There was criticism that the other new hires were not diverse.
Adding- Alex Smith's total QBR in 2009 and 2010 when Johnson was the 49ers QB coach was 40.22 and 40.12.

GREAT hire. Only issue is loyalty. Dude is a vagabond who goes from good job to good job it seems. Being named an interim coach, to me, is always a great sign for a coach as well.

Jimbo's staff 2.0 looks to be much better. My Dad and I both felt that way after watching the new coaches at the signing party. This looks like another great hire. He has serious NFL experience as QB coach and has been an OC in college and NFL. Plus we needed another African American coach. Would be an A hire in my book.

I don't think that is the idea. A guy with a NFL heavy resume can walk in and impress kids as they start a relationship. I don't envision FSU going after a ton of new West Coast targets all of a sudden. The focus will still be the East Coast, Alabama, and Louisiana.

How does this change our approach to SoFla?
