ESPN article on Spetman, state of program

  • Lose to NC state and no contract extension for you. Next year will define the rest of Jimbo's time here... if the inconsistency continues vs. the low hanging fruit... the same people calling the program "stupid" for not extending will be the first on here throwing a hissy and calling BOT/Spetman idiots for giving him an extension.

Next year is truly the prestige... we see consistency develop OR we dont, and the end is a forgone conclusion

So regardless of where a coach has brought us, on and off the field, and regardless of winning conf and beating Clemson etc... He is only good enough if he never loses to NC State?

  • The point that needs to be made is that there is absolutely no reason to be negotiating with Fisher at this time over an extension. Those that point to the success last season as a reason to do so should be reminded that Fisher's contract already covers that success. He received rich bonuses for winning the ACCCG and the BCS Bowl Game, per his contract.

Beat Clemson and UF and win another ACCCG, then maybe.

  • The extension would be solely for recruiting purposes. Ramsey's dad said schools already tried to use it against us. The 5th year is for recruiting, nothing more.

Beat Clemson and UF and not lose another "NC State" type game, win the ACCCG then maybe? Go undefeated then maybe we give you an extension? Seems reasonable. Makes perfect sense.

Please call me when our athletic program turns a profit. We were 16 MILLION in the hole in 2010-2011. So yea, we aren't as profitable as any team that turns a profit.

Spetman today: "We've balanced the budget every year. We had controversy last spring, but we ended up with a million-and-a-half excess."

So it seems that the "reports" published are skewed for tax purposes, if you catch my drift.

I think you're being way too black and white here. "NCState" here probably equals NC State 2012, Wake Forest, UVA 2011.

Are you ok with consistently losing these types of games? Some are, some are not.

Fsukum said it best...Some of the powers that be arent ready to hand over the keys long term just yet, and I don't blame them.

Think about it...their strategy mirrors about what we see on the boards. Most are very pleased with Jimbo, and extremely happy with what he's done. However, there are certain flags (inexplicable losses, lack of trust to delegate, etc) that people feel he need improvement on.
