ESPN Rumor - Dan Quinn (UF DC) Top DC Candidate for Philly

It's one of their "Insider" rumors so posting the link would be pointless unless you have that service, but just wanted to pass it along since I didn't see a thread for it yet. Any ideas on how this would affect UF and their recruiting for 2013?

I'm not sure, but I think this had more legs before Chip Kelly was hired. I think it had something to do with another candidate. And Muschamp is an excellent recruiter, so even if he does, I don't think it hurts them.

I think you are right. Just read an update on this and it appears UGA's DC is now the front runner. It also said that this will be decided in a matter of days and that either Grantham (UGA's DC) and Quinn will most likely get the job.

Haven't seen anything on that yet, but I haven't really been looking for it either. Really wouldn't matter where he goes to me, but I'd like the gates to take some kind of hit anywhere because they have been killing it recruiting.

Yep, I read the Bradley is in play in Jacksonville as well.

I'm sure he does... But like it was mentioned earlier recruiting is about relationships with some of the recruits (ex. Collins and D.Walker). I'm sure you would replace Quinn with a quality DC, but you're not immune from a player committing because of Quinn and then looking elsewhere if leaves. Coaching changes this late would hurt any team in recruiting IMO.

What does that have to do with losing the coach that has already established relationships with your commits/targets?

Too late in the game to make a difference who he calls.
You would lose a player or two and probably make Ramsey a USC vs FSU battle.

Looks like Bradley is going to be hired as the Jags HC. So, now we will get to see if he or Kelly picks up Quinn.

With the fact that he is the leading candidate for the Jaguars, as well as a top candidate for the Seahawks and Eagles... odds are that he will not be back next year.
