  • Why even have Down Votes? I'm tired of seeing people get down voted because you might not like or agree what the person has to say. I come here to read good and BAD news about my Noles and posters are going to be reluctant to report anything negative because they don't want to be down voted. Sure People should have thicker skin but not everybody does. BurleyNole says bad news is coming for James Wilder and he gets 32 Down Votes! That's rediculous when he was absolutely correct. I understand perhaps people would have liked for him to explain what and why but maybe he felt it wasn't his place.

    This is becoming a place where you can't even bring up anything negative without getting bombarded with down votes. I can assure you that at some point we will have someone stalk a poster and down vote them every time they post just because they don't like that poster if it already hasn't happened.
    Perhaps we should only have up votes and get rid of the down votes.

    Anyways let the down votes begin. I'm sure I'll take my lumping.

  • The best thing to do is ignore votes in general. They don't effect your life in any way. Unless you're TNole...

    Atleast you're not a coward and let someone know you down voted them I personally could care less if I get down voted but many posters do and many probably won't share information because they know they'll be down voted.

  • well you can't have upvotes without downvotes. I like the feature just wish it wasn't anonymous...more similar to facebook's like feature IMO with a non-anonymous dislike twist.

    I went through the same thing for a few months. I'm not sure why it happened, but it randomly turned red again.

    That guy got downvoted not because of bad news, but because of douch-ey behavior. Internet attention whoring (e.g., "Big news coming. It's bad and I know it and you don't, but soon you will and I'll look smart or in the know") is downvote-worthy. It brings absolutely no value and only serves to give the person doing it attention (which was the whole point).

I knew well in advance of the JWJ situation and because of other factors I decided NOT to engage in the details, but figured my fellow Nole fans would appreciate knowing something was coming about him very soon, and it wasnt good. Somehow you think that equals "Internet attention whoring"??? Whatever the hell that is. Some of you really need to enter the real world, and get out from behind a keyboard.

    I'm not sure how you don't quite get how this isn't well received.

    First of all, you didn't do it to help anyone, because that tidbit was entirely useless. It gives no information other than something bad is going on with player X, and that is if you are to be believed. You gave no details and no source. So, all you did was say "I know something you don't". Plus, no one likes bad news given like that.

    If I say, "hey, sorry man, I've got bad news about your kids, but you'll find out later." Is that helpful? If my information was: they are going to grow up in a bankrupt country then you are mad because I made you worry. And my tidbit did nothing to help you. Same situation here. It only got you attention for the two hours until someone with some credibility told us the situation and gave a source.
