Derrick Brooks probably does very little for funsies.

FSU is a big time football school. The BIG12, no matter how much they want to play the "we havent contacted them yet" card, better move and move in a hurry because there arent any good schools left to get. Heck, Miami is good, but they sound like they give up on football. USF may end up getting a great deal of talent if that happens. I say we get FSU and VT first, then Clemson and GAtech later. I have no clue what ND is going to do.

I like derrick brooks, but this was such a dumb thing to say.

Raises the spectre of tortious interference by the Big 12. They need us to at least indicate we are going to sever ties with the ACC before they can be "officially" courting us.

As a Pensacola native, Brooks is my favorite Nole.

However, his statements could potentially really damage our chances to join the Big 12 if there ever was a chance, and could also lead to a lot of trouble for FSU if we jump or not.

Yeah. Not sure how this qualifies as such. He's a Former member of the BOT yes? Furthermore, I imagine it'd be fairly hard to prove. He didn't come out and say, "Hey guys I know for a fact FSU is talking to the Big 12 and they're jumping ship. He prefaced his statement with a qualifier. Much ado about nothing imo.

He doesn't formally represent FSU, so why does it matter what he says? what he is saying is no different than what sources are saying to various media outlets.

What is there to go off of? A former student athlete who no longer is affiliated with the university addressed a rumor making it's rounds on various message boards, I don't see the problem.
