  • Great quote:

“I remember the recruiting coordinator from Florida,” said Pittman, who is now a youth football coach in the Orlando area. “He compared Florida State’s defensive linemen to Florida’s defensive linemen. … And how Florida State had like 15 guys and Florida only had a couple. And he said, ‘Now you choose.’ I chose Florida State.

“I didn’t care. I knew I might not start, but I felt like I was good enough to play. And you want to go to a place like that. You don’t want to go to a team that will give you everything. You want to work hard for something.”

  • Great read. Can't believe it's been 20 years. I still remember getting a Charlie ward football jersey and football equipment for Christmas in '93. I wore that FSU replica helmet everywhere and used it as a bike helmet.

Instant gratification has led to talent spread across so many teams. That's why teams get upset so often and makes what Bama so doing pretty impressive.
