Dante Fowler thrives for Florida , not Florida State

  • Ten months ago, most expected that when Florida and Florida State met, former Lakewood High star defensive end Dante Fowler would line up for the Seminoles.

    Instead, when they play Saturday in Tallahassee, Fowler will wear a Gator uniform. He orally committed to the Seminoles early, but as national signing day approached, he began to have a change of heart. On Feb. 1, he signed with the Gators.

    It has worked out extremely well for both Fowler and Florida.

    The freshman has played in all 11 games, including one start, and made a strong contribution that has impressed teammates.

  • I really don't like this kid. Like he has got to be number 1 on my crap list. I especially hate how I'm going to have to coninue to hear about him until he either gets kicked out or graduates. I'm thinking the first option is more likely.

    But I would advise him to stop tweeting, how he has had this game circle on his calender, since the beginning of the year. Remember you ditch us, not the other way around.

    He's not a minor, first of all. Second, with the way he played the recruiting game? Fowler deserves zero respect. Don't want him permanently or gravely injured, but I do want a message sent to him that the Noles hate him and he made a bad decision.

    Yes, I stand by my comment. I want to see him knocked out of the game because I think that is what it would take for him to get the message. I want to see him hit hard. Completely legally, though. I am not asking for a cheap shot.

    Back in the day, you could call it "getting your bell rung."

    How he went about making his decision and smirked about now he "played" FSU, was unconscionable to put it kindly. He went public with it and disrespected our program and coaches for all to see. Sooooooooo where I come from, we sweep the leg with impunity, and see how he deals with that from his newly acquired 'mature' perspective.

    The kid is a douche, and I would enjoy seeing his bell rung (legally), but I don't wish any permanent harm. I don't need to wish that, he'll be gone long before it matters. He treated his recruitment as a child would, and he'll be just as devious and selfish in college. Frankly, you'll be lucky if you get rid of him sooner rather than later.

    And, if it's possible for you to be realistic from your high-horse, how exactly do you think your board would regard someone who proclaimed UF allegiance for over a year, flipped on NSD and then tweeted that he played UF? I'm sure your entire fanbase would be totally classy - definitely classy - no hard feelings, right? Right....

    Also, GTFO here with this BS. Ignorant comments like this what makes us look down on you guys. If you want to make people recognize an out of line comment, simply say: I don't think we should ever wish injury on a kid, happy thanksgiving.

    I suppose that's too much to ask, and I will enjoy the heartbreak your fanbase gets this Saturday. I hope you enjoyed 10 wins, that's all you're getting for the next month. You're going to suffer a beatdown on Saturday, and then you'll be idle while the real football programs play for championships - both of your rivals. Is it still a good season when you lose to both rivals and don't even play for your division? I know I never enjoyed that outcome, but maybe I have higher expectations. After losing to us for the past 2 years, I guess you might be used to settling for less.

  • I don't have anything against Folwer for choosing UF. I don't like Fowler because he handled things in a classless manner and it really screwed FSU. Of course the Gators loved this, but if the shoe was on the other foot you guys would feel the exact same.
