Will Mario Pender be in the team next year?
Yes. But I think the thin ice breaks next offseason. For better or worse Jimbo will need to keep him eligible this fall. After that its all on Mario.
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
cliffs please. grades? attitude?
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Everyone seems to think he's always in trouble or close to it, but I've heard nothing about it. I think its just that people are skeptical he was actually injured. I saw him around right after announcement and saw no limp or anything. I hope he stays though bc his film is amazing
To be fair, sometimes there are no visible signs of injury such as limping, but injuries prevent them from playing.
I definitely hope he is fine. We need him badly next season
Honestly, it's strange that no one has been able to dig up with any certainty what the problem specifically is/was with Pender. Maybe he's turned things around by now. Maybe he will turn things around in the spring. Or maybe he stays the same. I swear he and Benjamin could be superstars but it seems like neither is proven to be headed in that direction. Optimistically, imagine if both of those kids exploded next year. We have a couple sleeping giants on our offense, if you think about it. Hope's what the off season's all about!
If you're referring to his being redshirted, it was due to "a groin injury ... groin, I say groin injury" (Sam on Cheers for you young guys).
I remember Jimbo saying because Mario was missing so much practice and because groin injuries are so easily re-injured they decided to redshirt him. IIRC they were talking about a surgical procedure ... but don't recall if it happened or not.
If you were referring to grades or other stuff ... no idea.
Yes, of course he'll be on the team. He and Green will be competing for PT.
The Future is Now.
Sorry, but I heard it as Foghorn Leghorn
He had surgery so his issue was fixed so probably no limping but he couldn't play football because he didn't want to mess up the surgery but maybe he still needed a KB type redshirt. He's fine, there's nothing serious of note I just think everybody is paranoid cause we need him playing
I thought Pender had a sports hernia, which is a hernia in the groin region.
FSU Football. Making cool the new swag since 2013.
Josh has said previously that Mario will be a semester by semester type of thing because of grades
Yes, I was referring to the "other stuff" issues that haven't surfaced with any concrete details. I don't think the hamstring issue would cause him to be removed from the team, so what are the real issues that would? Did he actually do anything wrong apart from blowing off rehab? Or is it grades? Or something else?
Pender is a really, really good player. If he plays all spring and focuses I think he'd push for the starting RB job.
I don't think there is anything at FSU that would lead people to believe he'll be off the team. I think it's his high school days that have people second guessing him.
Got ya, well with the amount of tutoring he gets and study hall time, there is no excuse not to qualify
We will need Pender and Green to step up in 2013. Can't go through the season with just Wilder and Freeman.
Pender will be 6'0 200 and Green will be 5'10 205 in the fall. I expect big things from both.
Then in 2014 we will have Wilder (Sr), Freeman (Sr), Pender (rSo), Green (So), Michel (Fr), Yearby (Fr). That's Bama depth at RB... if Wilder doesn't go pro after this season. High possibility, even if he only rushes for around 750 yards.
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
You really think we get Michel? Feel like he's a big long shot.
Loves FSU, been to the camp 3 years in a row I believe? Many unofficial visits. Great shot here. Sanders needs to pick up where Gran left off.
We recruited as if Pender was going to be on the team, so i say yes
